What's up CCS friends?

Just a couple more nights to take advantage of brining your team for a team outing at the CCC if you want... Last night was an electric night at the event; big crowds, great games and lots of fun. For those who were there - great seeing you!

Today's lineup:

10;00am: South Salem Saxons v Jefferson (PDX) Democrats
11:30am: McNary Celtics v Corvallis Spartans

2:30: Crescent Valley Raiders v Salem Academy Crusaders

Last reminder: Coaches who are registered in the system (not just anybody saying "I'm a coach" - lol) get a free pass to the tourney. Up to two per team. You can bring your entire team one time for free -- so long as they come with you in some team gear and the kids who come are on your roster. You can't come pick up the tickets for them or anything like that. So, just as a head's up, we do have some controls on it.

But as long as you play by the rules, which are fair and not onerous. it's a fun night for your team we hope.

THANK YOU! Come on down and see why we say: You gotta see who's at the CCC!

Hey All,

Tonight's lineup at the CCC at Willamette University, the second day of the Opening Round:

4:00 - Crescent Valley Raiders v Roosevelt Roughriders
5:30 - Salem Academy Crusaders v Rancho Christian Eagles (CA)
7:00 - South Salem Saxons v Beaverton Beavers
8:30 - Lincoln Cardinals v Cane Ridge Ravens (TN)

Remember, your team has up to two All Tourney passes for coaches that registered in Exposure for your team. The coaches need to have photo ID and be listed on your team when you registered for the CCS. For your team, your kids should match those on your submitted roster, and they must come with the coach as a group (you can't just have a coach or kids "pick up their" tickets). Show up together, with the coach, identify team name and coach name, and we'll get you in. Easy breezy and fun opporunity for all.

Thank you agai for playing in the CCS!

Sincerely,
THE CCS TEAM

Greetings Folks,

The 2021 Capitol City Classic Starts... TODAY!!

Today's lineup at Willamette University:

4:00pm - Corvallis v Wilsonville
5:30pm - Mountainside v McNary
7:00pm - Jefferson v West Salem
8:30pm - Cascade v Silverton

Then, on Saturday, the rest of the Opening Round will be played:

4:00pm - Crescent Valley v Roosevelt
5:30pm - Salem Academy v Rancho Christian (CA)
7:00pm - Beaverton v South Salem
8:30pm - Lincoln v Cane Ridge (TN)

If you decide you would like to bring your team for an outing at the CCC, remember that is one of the perks you get for participating in the CCS! You are entitled to up to two passes for folks who registered as coaches of your team at the CCS, as well as up to 10 player admissions for the kids on your CCS roster... all for free!

On the player admissions, these must be redeemed as a group; in other words, the team must attend with their coach. No exceptions on this; the student tickets are intended for a team outing.

Everyone will need photo ID, and the coaches will need to meet WU's requirements for admission: a) Proof of Vaccination (or a negative Covid test within the past 72 hours); and b) To wear a mask at all times indoors.

At any rate, thank you again for playing in the CCS... and if it suits you and/or your team, we look forward to seeing you at the CCC!

Sincerely,
THE CCS TEAM

Just a quick note toTHANK everyone for playing in the 2021 Capitol City Showcase! We thoroughly enjoyed having you involved, during a record turnout year for us.

We hope you enjoyed the tournament, and that you take pride in the fact that in participating in the CCS you are directly supporting basketball in the Mid-Willamette Valley. This event is not a "chain" of tournaments or anything of that sort. It's a benefit for the Capitol City Classic high school event, which brings great, national talent to Salem and gives a number of Mid-Willamette teams the opportunity to compete against and experience playing against national-level talent. The CCC also, we hope, is a great event for the regional basketball fan in Oregon. And for our wonderful local high schools that are site hosts, the CCS is a substantial fundraiser.

All of this is great stuff, and you contributed to all of it this year.

We still have a few items with which we will be following up. We'll send you info on how you get your tickets to the CCC, for example, very soon. We have a few logistical things to wrap up, too.

But we just didn't want today to go by without us saying thank you for playing. We wish you all the very best for a great and fun season, and we hope to see you later this week at the CCC at Willamette University (12/17-12/22)!

Sincerely,
THE CCS TEAM

Greetings All,

if you win your Division's championship today, please go to Sprague High School for your championship t-shirts and team photo. Make contact with BJ Dobrkovsky (503-302-6655) and he will celebrate your team's great accomplishment and take care of everything.

In cases where you aren't sure who won the Division (divisions that are entirely pool play based with no brackets), please simply check-in with BJ to find out if you team is the Division champion.

Lastly, the Capitol City Showcase is a qualifer for the Oregon Mid-High State Basketball Championships in Salem. This is an event for school-based teams only. Girls will be played February 25-27, while the boys will go at it March 4-6. We will be in touch with who qualified for State after the CCS is completed, and please remember - sometimes if a non-school team finishes in one of the top two spots in a given division, a 3rd place team can earn a berth.

Thank you, and good luck to all today! We hope you have a great, fun day of hoops with the kids. We appreciate your playing in the Capitol City Showcase!

Greetings, Folks!

As we turn the corner from Saturday to Sunday, please be advised that there are a handful of scores from games today that have been or are in the process currently of being updated for accuracy. This may changed the results in some divisions. So, just to be safe and to be sure your division was not one impacted in this way, please double-check your Sunday schedule tomorrow morning to be sure of your game times.

Remember, too: If you are the first game of the day (8:00am) at any given site, the gym will not be open until 7:40am tomorrow. If you show up earlier, you will have to wait until 7:40am for access to the gym.

Thank you.. and GOOD LUCK to all tomorrow!
THE CCS TEAM

12/11/2021 10:20 PM

IF YOU ARE PLAYING IN THE FIRST GAME AT ANY SITE TOMORROW, just a head's up - we will be opening the gym doors to teams and spectators 20 minutes before the first games tomorrow.

If you come earlier, you won't get in the building. We just don't want you wasting time outside in the cold, or sitting in your car, needlessly.

Thank you, and good luck to all!
THE CCS TEAM

Greetings,

Here. We. Go!

So, for your convenience, you will be able to check-in at the site of your first game tomorrow. Please just let the person at admissions know you are a coach, and she will have a bag for your team.

In the bag, you should find the following:

- An extra copy of the CCS Rules, just FYI;

- A 2021 Capitol City Classic commemorative poster for you or one of your kids to keep;

- An envelope with special coupons for deals at Jamba Juice;

- ACCC Eats! booklet, with 6-7 great places to eat while in Salem and a few deals included for CCS participants as well;

- A foam mini-basketball;

- A Capitol Auto lanyard; &

- (MOST IMPORTANTLY) An envelope with two purple CCC Coaches wrist-bands that will give your team two coaches free entry into the event throughout the weekend.

Please note, when you check-in and pickup your bag, the admissions person will ask you for the names of your two coaches. Please give them to the admissions person, they will give you the bag, and we'll be good to go.

Good luck this weekend... we hope you have a great experience, and we appreciate you playing!

Sincerely,

Good evening!

Three quick notes:

1) The home team is the one listed 2nd or beneath (in a bracket) on the schedules and that team should wear white/light jerseys;

2) We will be spread across five venues in Salem this weekend. The addresses for each in case you need them, along with an important note or two:

- McNary High School
595 Chemawa Rd N
Keizer, OR 97303

** NOTE: Their is a parade in Keizer and the streets start getting shut-down at 5:00pm on this Saturday. Our last games start at 3:00pm at McNary on Saturday for that reason, but you will want to get out of the area quickly after your game unless you plan on staying for hours and watching the parade... Please spread the word on this.

- Sprague High School
2373 Kuebler Road S
Salem, OR 97302

** NOTE: Sprague has construction going. The best way to park is to go all the way around to the back of the school after you go in... That will give you the best parking/access to the building.

-South Salem High School
1910 Church Street SE
Salem, OR 97302

** NOTE: We will be using SS's Main & Upper gyms, as well as the new, separate Auxiliary gym.

- West Salem High School
1776 Titan Drive NW
Salem, OR 97304

-The PAC Salem
3855 Cascadia Canyon Ave SE
Suite 120
Salem, OR 97302

3) PLEASE GET YOUR ROSTER & WAIVERS IN ASAP!We have about 50% in right now... To get your team packet with your coaches' wristbands and the rest, we need that done. We don't want same-day Roster-Waiver turn-ins, so please handle ASAP...

Thank you to all, and we'll see you soon!

Covid-19 Protocols
We ask all participants, referees, staff, coaches and spectators to self-screen and not attend the event if they are showing any symptoms - whether that is a fever, cough, cold, sore throat or the like.  Beyond that masks will be required of all at all times indoors; players while playing are not required to wear them.  Anybody failing to wear a mask at a game runs the risk of being asked to leave the facility, and (that failing) suspending or cancelling games.  We simply will be working to follow the guidelines we are being given to let the kids play. We hope you will support their participation by following those guidelines.
