It's that time of year...to nominate up to 3 players from your team to represent your school/team in this year's Presidents' Day Showcase. This event will be held at Berkshire High School on Monday, February 13th. Please note your nomination is NOT a guarantee that your players will be selected to play in the event. There are only 200 spots available (our league has over 160 teams). Please use your best judgement when nominating players. You do not have to nominate any players or you may nominate up to 3. The League Tournament schedule is up and final. Reminder...the league tournament is setup as 15 seperate tournaments amongst all of our boys/girls divisions. Tournaments are setup using regular season records, resume, team skill level, etc. Our league has teams from all over Northeastern Ohio as well. So location, school size, coaches who coach multiple teams, etc. also go into this. The league tournament is NOT a traditional tournament strictly based on ONLY your records in your division over the course of the regular season. The league tournament has teams grouped together of similiar skill level that result in a competitive tournament of teams with like ability. Our goal is for good basketball games! Tournament placements are not up for debate. When looking at your tournament brackets PLEASE look at the consolation games on the bottom. MOST teams will play multiple (2-3) tournament games based on wins and losses. You can only find these scheduled games by looking directly on your tournaments bracket page under Consolation games. They will not be on your team schedule page on the app/website. We do not want teams missing out on games. Good luck to all teams as we move forward into our league tournament schedule.

BIG LEAF STAFF

BRACKETS/TIMES ARE POSTED FOR THE FIRST DAY OF THE LEAGUE TOURNAMENT ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 29TH. WE DO NOT HAVE MUCH FLEXIBILITY WITH CHANGING BRACKET SCHEDULES. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY TO YOUR SCHEDULED TIMES. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR SCHEDULE AND THE BRACKETS AS THERE ARE MANY CONSOLATION GAMES. ANY GAMES NOT SCHEDULED ON THE BRACKETS WILL BE PLAYED THE FINAL WEEKEND OF THE SEASON (FEBRUARY 3-5).

We wanted to update everyone on the remaining Big Leaf League schedule for the rest of the season. The last full weekend of regular season league games will be this upcoming weekend January 20-22. The following two weekends of January 27-29 and February 3rd-5th will be for the league tournament. These last two weekends will also include some regular season games for teams who need games made up. All teams will play a minimum of 12 TOTAL games by the end of the regular season/league tournament on February 5th. Brackets will be posted by the end of this week for the league tournament. Seeding for the league tournament is resume based. In most cases there will be multiple brackets per age group/division to allow for the most competitive games over the last couple of weekends. More info to come!

Due to a flu oubreak with one of our Big Leaf teams playing at Spire this Sunday; we have had to make adjustments to the AM schedule at Spire on 12/11. Please check your schedule on the app for updates!

Cleveland Hts. is unable to play this Sunday 12/11. Hudson Blue will now play Perry Black at 4:00. Please check app for updates!

Please use the Big Leaf Basketball app as all details of games including opponents, times, home/away teams, etc. are up to the minute and sometimes these details are not updated on Gamechanger correctly or up to date.

1. The AWAY team is always listed first and should wear dark uniforms. The HOME team is always listed second and should wear white uniforms.

2. 2 coaches and a scorekeeper need to sign in and get FREE admission

3. If you are playing at Hiram College...seating is limited...please bring a chair to sit on. Remember there is upper level seating at Hiram College and Spire.

4. We did NOT have enough teams to sign up for and have a separate A and B division. Scheduling will be done based on geography and skill level. We will continue to assess and alter schedule as needed.

5. 6th boys RULES...all games will use the rules listed for 6th Boys grade B & C

6. The schedule is up through January 7th. We will continue to add games. All teams will have 9 scheduled league games. Stay tuned on the app for updates.

7. Parents...coaches...adults- PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR PLAYERS TO DRIBBLE BASKETBALLS IN THE HALLWAYS, SIDELINES, ETC AT OUR FACILITIES. NO TEAMS SHOULD BE ON THE FLOOR SHOOTING DURING OTHER TEAMS GAMES..SHOW RESPECT! ADULTS MONITOR THIS SITUATION!

Big Leaf Community,

We know you have been anxiously waiting our schedule release. We have posted the first 2 weeks and will continue to post the rest of the schedule over the course of the next day. All teams will have 9 league games scheduled. Your remaining 3 games will come over the couse of the last two weekends during the course of the league tournament (last weekend of January and first weekend in February). Please remember we do our best to accomodate schedule requests that we have received. We have 140 teams to try and accomodate. We have teams and facilities all over Northeastern Ohio. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding. Big Leaf will host games this year on a few Fridays, some Saturdays with the majority of the games being scheduled on Sundays. We do understand that things happen and schedule conflicts do arrise. But please do your best to play your games as scheduled. Every change effects other teams and families as well. ALL schedule related changes/conflicts need to be done using the Big Leaf Scheduling form; using the link below. Please do not call, text or email. We appreciate your help with this.
