Hello Parents Quick update for everyone.
It has been brought to our attention that the refs of our league are not meeting the expectations as well as they have in the past. This has prompted us to have a very serious conversation with the scheduler who sends us the refs and oversees ensuring these refs know and understand the rules for each division. We expect they will do a better job and run a tighter ship and the games will be more orderly. With that being said we also need you as parents to understand the refs have a difficult job. These are humans just like all of us. They do miss calls, they do make mistakes, please do not berate them for a missed call. Please do not curse at them, please remember this is a youth league. We are here to watch the kids play basketball. Under no circumstance are parents allowed to approach the ref prior to, during, or after a game ends. We understand emotions are high and there are frustrations. We also understand sometimes you just want to say great job but please allow some grace for them.
Also, it has been brought to our attention by gym owners that we are not taking care of the facilities as well as expected. While at the gyms kids that are not practicing need to be under parent supervision. They shouldn’t be running in the halls or in the classrooms at the schools. If this behavior continues, we will lose access to these locations and unfortunately it will cause cancelation of those practice times. Please help us to keep in the good graces of our gym owners.

Coaches 1st i want to say thank you as always for everything you all do for the league. without each of you none of this is possible. I want to remind each of you of the subbing rules. We are receiving a few complaints about subs not being done appropriately. In the league rules we have laid these charts out so that you all as coaches have a clear understanding and a game subbing plan. A complete set of the rules can be found in the documents section on the app. The specific rule read as follows.
Player participation rules – The Player participation rules must be followed.
Penalty: If player participation rules are not followed the player in question will be forced to sit out for the required minimum 4 minutes. This includes time in the 4th quarter.
1. Mandatory Playing Time. Substitutions will happen at the 4-minute mark for the first 3 quarters. All players on the bench will sub into the game at that time. At the start of the next quarter, substitutions must be made again for the players that have not sat yet. In the 4th quarter and overtime, however, substitutions can happen as often, or as little, as the coach chooses. There are no regulations to subbing and playing time during these periods.
At no time in the 1st 3 quarters shall a player sit 2 times in a row!
Examples of subbing attached.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
I want to outline the expectations for parent conduct to ensure a positive and supportive atmosphere for everyone involved. Your role as parents plays a crucial part in shaping the experience for your child and the entire team.
1. Positive Support: Cheer for all athletes, not just your own child. Positive encouragement fosters a supportive environment and enhances the overall experience for everyone.
2. Respect for Coaches and Officials: Trust the expertise of our coaching staff and respect the decisions made by officials. Disputes or concerns can be addressed through appropriate channels and not during games or practices.
3. Communication: Maintain open and respectful communication with coaches, addressing concerns or inquiries through scheduled meetings or designated communication channels.
4. Attendance: Ensure your child is punctual and attends all practices and games. If conflicts arise, communicate with the coaching staff in advance.
5. Model Sportsmanship: Demonstrate good sportsmanship in your interactions with other parents, coaches, and players. Your behavior serves as a powerful example for the young athletes.
6. Facility Etiquette: Respect the facilities and equipment provided. Encourage your child to do the same and help maintain a clean and safe environment. Please make sure to park in the appropriate parking spots at the gyms. (The street in front of LS3 is NOT a parking spot please park across the street in the parking lot)
Remember, our collective efforts contribute to the overall success of the program and the positive development of our young athletes. We appreciate your commitment to upholding these guidelines and creating a welcoming environment for all.
Thank you for being an integral part of Be Someone Sports.
Best regards,
Hello parents we are cancelling all practices and moving all games to a later date and time that were scheduled for today and tomorrow. Unfortuneatly we can not reschedule the practices due to a lack of space and time. but the games will be rescheduled. please be safe and stay warm. see you all soon.

Hello BE Someone fam! I know everyone has noticed the cameras in the gyms and we have received a lot of questions regarding how does this work? How do we see the games? When will we release the infomation? We wanted to make sure we had a basic understanding of the systems and how it works before we released any info.
Now we feel like we are at that point. We are still learning the stats part so please bare with us on that but see the attached documnet and it will give you 1 free account to see the games. This is pretty awesome technology. We are really excited to be able to offer this. With the subcription you will be able to see the all the games live streamed. The will be great to the parents that travel and for the families that can not be present. I really hope you all enjoy this. We will continue to get better with it and this will be another great thing Be Someone offers. Stay warm!!!!
Dear Parents,
We hope this message finds you well. Due to circumstances beyond our control, specifically related to gym availability, we have had to make more adjustments than we would like to the previously communicated schedule. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely apologize for any disruption to your plans.
Our team has worked diligently to minimize the impact on the overall schedule, and we appreciate your understanding and flexibility during this time. We assure you that we are committed to providing the best experience for our athletes and participants despite these unforeseen challenges.
Speaking of unforeseen challenges, we are also monitoring the upcoming winter weather and are seeing reports of a potential hard freeze on Tuesday/Wednesday of this week. We will be looking to the school districts and the city for direction on best practices and/or cancellations. The safety of our players and community is our top priority.
Please continue to check the Be Someone Sports App for the most up-to-date schedule of activities.
Please contact us at info@besomeonesports.com with any schedule-related questions. A Be Someone Sport team member will respond as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to your understanding as we navigate through these adjustments.
Good Afternoon Be Someone Basketball Families! Picture Day will be the week of January 22nd-28th located at DC Stanley Photography in Friendswood. Dear Parents,
We are excited for the games to start this weekend. I wanted to send a quick reminder and share some helpful information to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. It promises to be an exciting season filled with growth, teamwork, and, of course, lots of fun on the court!
1) Team Communication: Stay connected with the team. Communication is key! Make sure you subscribe to the Be Someone Sports App and your team communication channels (email, messaging, etc.) to receive timely updates, announcements, and schedule changes. a) Apple: Be Someone Sports on the App Store (apple.com) b) Google Play: Be Someone Sports - Apps on Google Play
2) Uniforms and gear: Ensure your child has their team uniform for the game. Don't forget to pack a water bottle and a snack for those energy-boosting breaks!
a) Away Team wears white – Top Spot in the app schedule.
b) Home Team wears dark colors – Bottom Spot in the app schedule.
3) Sportsmanship and Respect: Remind your child about the importance of good sportsmanship and respecting teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials. Encourage them to give their best effort and have a positive attitude on and off the court.
4) Game Day Logistics: Familiarize yourself with game day logistics, including venue locations, parking, and any specific guidelines. Arrive a bit early to avoid any last-minute rush and to cheer on the team during warm-ups!
5) Team Spirit: Show your team spirit! Consider creating posters, banners, or cheers to uplift the team's morale. Positive energy from the sidelines can make a significant impact on the players. Don’t forget to take photos and tag Be Someone Sports on social media.
6) Enjoy the Experience: Most importantly, encourage your child to have fun and enjoy the experience. The youth basketball season is not just about winning or losing but about learning, growing, and creating lasting memories.
We're thrilled to have you and your child as part of our basketball community, and we look forward to a fantastic season ahead. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Thank you.
