Hi Coaches and Team Managers,

A heartfelt thank you to all the teams who participated in this year’s Ballin’ for Breast Cancer tournament—and the incredible volunteers who helped make it all happen, from our scorekeepers and convenors to the door staff and site leads. After our unexpected snow delay in February, this event was a long time coming, and we were thrilled to finally bring everyone back to the court last weekend for an unforgettable few days of basketball, community, and purpose. This year’s tournament welcomed 41 teams who competed in 90 games across three exciting days.

We’re still tallying our final donation total and look forward to sending it through to the Canadian Cancer Society, just as we’ve proudly done for the past 11 years (setting aside those darkened basketball days of COVID we no longer mention...). Whether your team left with medals or lasting memories, your presence, energy, and sportsmanship helped make this event something truly special.

🏅 Congratulations to Our Gold Medal Winners:
BU10 – DC United Bulldogs (Verona Smith)
BU16 – Etobicoke Thunder (Cobey Agbaje)
BU19 – Eurostep (Damjan Zlatic)
GU10 – Etobicoke Thunder
GU12 – YNBA Avengers (Mike McWilliams)
GU15 – Oxford Attack (Colin Halward)

📄 Tournament Results & Review
Attached is a soft copy of the final tournament results, broken out by division. This version reflects the correct OBA team names, and coaches can now access score sheets and full game video via the Etobicoke Basketball app, powered by BallerTV. The app is a free download on both Apple and Android stores and includes all results, score sheets, and on-demand video links—ideal for teaching moments as you gear up for Provincials and Ontario Cup play.

We’ll ask our division managers to enter scores into the OBA Results Portal, but first, we ask coaches to take one final look at your team’s listing in the attached document. If you notice any errors or corrections needed, kindly notify us by the end of the day tomorrow so we can finalize an accurate and searchable record in the sanctioned games portal. The final version will be distributed Friday morning to team managers for input. All scores should be logged over the weekend, and we’ll also be sending a soft copy to the OBA for their files. The GU10 division will remain listed, as the ranking period for that age group has already passed.

While some divisions are still wrapping up their round-robin games, others are already looking ahead to Super Sunday and the road to gold. We're excited to close out this meaningful event with a strong finish!

🔄 Live Score Updates & Standings
Scores and standings are being updated regularly in the Etobicoke Basketball app, so please continue checking throughout the day for the latest updates in your division.

Medal ceremonies will occur immediately following each gold and bronze medal game. Please ensure your teams remain courtside for quick and celebratory presentations.

📸 Photography Reminder
*Professional photographer Craig Eakins has been capturing action shots all weekend.
*Game albums will be shared with coaches following each game, and photos can be purchased at www.goldvirtualtours.ca for $10 + HST per image.

🧼 Venue Courtesy
A big thank you to all teams for keeping the facilities tidy. As we head into Sunday, please continue to clean up after your games and help us leave each venue better than we found it.

🧢 Merchandise

*If your size isn’t available, let us know—we’ll check availability at another school or advise on post-event ordering options.

📍 Important Reminder
*All game times and locations are now locked.
*We’ve made a few adjustments to the Sunday schedule to help teams with multiple commitments have a smoother experience.
*Coaches are responsible for ensuring that their teams arrive at the correct venue and on time.

Hi Teams, Coaches, and Supporters,

The wait is over—Ballin’ for Breast Cancer tips off this Friday evening! We’re excited to welcome over 40 teams competing in 90 games, all supporting the Canadian Cancer Society. Thank you for being part of this incredible event as we come together for a weekend of basketball, community, and fundraising for an important cause.

📅 Tournament Schedule & Sunday Adjustments
*The Friday and Saturday round-robin schedules are locked, so please check your game times and locations in the Etobicoke Basketball app (available freely via Apple or Android store).
*BU16 Division Update: Due to overwhelming interest, our BU16 division has expanded from 10 to 12 teams, requiring reorganizing the Super Sunday schedule to accommodate the additional games.
*Sunday’s schedule may still be adjusted based on Saturday’s final results. We aim to make Super Sunday run smoothly, particularly for coaches managing multiple teams.
*The last game on Saturday ends at 10 PM, so consider the Sunday schedule locked by 11 PM at the latest. Once the schedule is finalized, we will send a confirmation note to all teams.
*Scores & Standings: We will upload game score sheet images into the app after each game and work to keep standings as close to real-time as possible. Please check the app frequently for updates. You do not need to ask the score table for a copy of the game results
*If you cannot access the Etobicoke Basketball app, you can also find the full tournament schedule and divisional standings online here:
https://basketball.exposureevents.com/231717/ballin-for-breast-cancer.

💵 Entry Fee & Admission

*$10 per day or a weekend pass for $15 (Kids under 12 free).
*Coaches and players do not pay.
*Exact change is appreciated, or you can e-transfer to: jaypea69@gmail.com.

🎽 Uniform Guidelines & Home/Away Clarification
*Teams playing in Etobicoke: We will wear our commemorative Ballin’ uniforms all weekend and always play in dark colours, even if listed as the Home team.
*The schedule lists the Home team on top and the Away team on the bottom. Etobicoke teams will always wear "Away" colours this weekend—please adjust your uniforms accordingly.

📍 Venue Directions & Parking
*Use the Etobicoke Basketball app for venue directions. It will launch to your preferred map program for accurate navigation.
*Do not rely on Google Maps alone, as some locations have duplicate school names—for example, St. Oscar Romero is at 99 Humber Blvd. in Toronto, not the one in Caledon.
*Chaminade College – The entrance to the gym is around the back and up the hill.
*St. Basil-the-Great – There is a small parking lot in the front, but we recommend using the large parking lot in the back, providing the easiest gym access.
*If it is your first time at a gym, please plan to arrive early to ensure that you find your way to the gym, have time to change, and are ready for warm-ups at the designated time. Keeping our schedule on track is crucial.

🏀 Game Day Logistics
*Respect the game and facilities: Please remind your players, coaches, and spectators to show good sportsmanship at all times and respect referees, opponents, and volunteers. Help us keep the tournament atmosphere positive for everyone.
*Keep our venues clean: Teams are responsible for ensuring their bench areas and spectator seating remain trash-free after each game.
*Bring your own game balls for warm-ups and to provide to the referee.
*First aid kits – Please have one available for your team.

⛹️‍♂️ Bench & Spectator Etiquette
*Stay in designated areas: Coaches, players, and spectators should remain in their assigned bench and seating sections, not crowd the court.
*Be mindful of game flow: Avoid entering the court or interfering with active games, and ensure players are ready for their warm-up and game start times.

👕 Commemorative T-Shirts
*Ballin’ for Breast Cancer commemorative t-shirts will be available for sale at all our game venues.
*Please let us know if we do not have your size, and we will check availability at another location.
*For teams that have pre-purchased customized t-shirts (featuring a team logo and player number on the sleeve), we will deliver them to you before your tournament's first game.

🎥 Live Streaming with Baller.TV
*All games will be streamed live via Baller.TV, making it easy for family and friends to follow along remotely.
*The games will be available on VOD after the event for those who want to review or catch up on the action.
*You can access streams directly through the Etobicoke Basketball app.

We appreciate your participation and support in making Ballin’ for Breast Cancer an excellent experience for everyone. Let’s have a fantastic weekend both on and off the court!

See you soon on the hardwood!

Hi everyone,

A few remaining points I should have added:

*Please ensure you refresh your app and that you are seeing our new schedule for the event March 21-23 and not our snowed out event from February 14-16. I've deleted that entry but you may be seeing ghosts on the internet (the internet never forgets, remember that kids...). If you have any issues with the app, feel free to visit the website below for the schedule:

https://basketball.exposureevents.com/231717/ballin-for-breast-cancer

The Home team is listed at the top, and the Away team is on the bottom. But please remember that Etobicoke will wear "Away" colours all weekend, and adjust your uniforms for those games accordingly.

If you have any other questions, please get in touch with us through your team admin.

Thank you,

Team Ballin.
