Dear Energy Hoops Classic Teams and Families,
Thank you to all for a great day of supprting kids! Here are some important updates for everyone heading into day two:
1. Please double and triple check your schedule and brackets.
2. Championship teams need to report to Redmond High School and see Tourney Director Sam Ure to collect your Championship T-Shirts and Nike Cinch Bags.
3. We have some officials who cancelled on us for tomorrow, but all games will be covered. We have a couple of courts who may only have one official for some games. We have made sure to put our most experienced officials on those courts. *We are still working as we speak to fill any single game official slots. Please be thoughtful of this and support our officials, who want the kids to have a great experience.
4. Energy Hoops Classic Tourney Sweatshirts can be purchased at Redmond High School all day at the printing station next to admission. Sweatshirts are $45 and name and number are an additional $5 per.
5. Cuppa Yo frozen yogurt (right downtown) is offering $2 off to an player who shows up in their jersey tomorrow. Please support this new business in our community if you need a treat for the family tomorrow!
Lastly, a special thank you to everyone for your commitment to kids and making this year's 5th Annual Energy Hoops Classic the best one yet!
For the Love of Kids and the Game!
Respectfully,
The Energy Hoops Classic Team
Greeting Energy Hoops Classic Teams,
Please note we have made what we hope are the FINAL revisions to the scheudule. Double and Triple check your team's schedule please!
Please know that we are sorry for the adjustments. These were not our doing and any inconveneince you are feeling is felt ten fold on our end as we have pvitoed to make sure we solved for cancellations. We have worked throughout the day to make the adjustments necessary to keep everyone on the court.
Also, a friendly reminder that admission for the weekend is $10 per day, or $15 for a two day pass. Cash, Check or Card are accepted. *CBL Coaches, PLEASE remind your families that this is not a CBL event. It is a seperate event run by Energy, not the Redmond School District. It is a fundraiser for youth for an ALL VOLUNTEER organization.
Many thanks! See you on the court tomorrow!
For the Love of Kids and the Game,
The EYBC Board of Directors
Hi All,
We have been getting lots of questions throughout the day about any prospects of cancelling the tournament. The answer is, unless an Act of God happens, we are hooping.
As mentioned earlier, Central Oregon is used to winter weather. Our gyms will be open and we will be there. You won't find a more committed group than EYBC, to makeing sure kids get a chance to play. We do wish everyone safe travels!
For the Love of Kids and the Game,
The Energy Hoops Classic Team
Good Evening Energy Hoops Classic Coaches, Teams and Families,
We want to welcome you to the 5th Annual Energy Hoops Classic! We are excited to welcome 98 teams to this year's event. The rules and regulations are attached to this message.
Here are a few important details:
1. We did out best to accomodate scheduling requests with as much consideration as possible for teams traveling in.
2. Apologies to the 5th Girls Division and 7th Grade Girls divisions. Due to cancellations from out of the area teams, these dvisions ended up with either all or mostly local teams. The bright side is, teams still get to play hoops and get better in a tournament format.
3. Please pay special attention to your team's divisonal format for scheduling. Because each division has a different number of teams, some formats are pool play to bracket play, while other divisions are bracket play only and a couple have a hybrid format. It all works out in the end! Every team is GUARANTEED 4 games based on the schedule that is set for each division.
4. We will be selling Tournament Sweatshirts for $45 at Redmond High all weekend. Players and fans can get their names and numbers printed on the back for $5.
5. If your team wins their division's Championship, please report to Redmond High and see Tournament Director, Sam Ure to recieve your teams Championship T-Shirts and Championship Nike Cinch bags directly after your game.
6. We need our officials more than we need your team. Disrespect towards officials will not be tolerated. We have a decline in officials in our Nation because of the poor treatment that some allow. Be something positive and different, treat officials with respect! They want your kids to learn and have a great experience. Coaches, if you have a quesiton regarding officials, you can contact officials Commissioner, Sam Meier at sdmeier8@hotmail.com.
7. Admissions are $10 per day OR you can buy a 2 day wristband for $15. Kids under the age of 6 are free. This tournament is a fundraiser for YOUTH! Please advise your parents, grandparents and spectators of this prior to the tournament.
8. Follow results and all schdules on the OAB App.
9. If your team places 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a division and is a school feeder team, you will automatically qualify for both the Salem State Tournement and the Central Oregon State Tournament.
10. PLEASE READ THE RULES AND REGULATIONS ATTACHED TO THIS COMMUNICATION. They can also be found on the OAB App under "documents."
If you have any questions, please contact Tournament Director Sam Ure at sam.ure@energyhoopclub.com or 907-232-7007. *Please don't reply to this email.
Thank you for your commitment and participation in the 2024 Energy Hoops Classic!
For the Love of Kids and the Game,
The EYBC Board of Directors
Coaches,
The field of teams is showing on the Oregon Amateur Basketball app. Please download that as it will be your best source of scheduling information and communication for this weekend.
We have received severals calls and texts about weather this weekend. If you are nervous about the weather, you must withdraw today. There will be no refunds or credits for any cancellations after Midnight Monday. If we make the decision to cancel the event based on weather conditions in Redmond, we will issue refunds. It is highly unlikely this will happen as snow is common in Central Oregon.
Schedule will be posted by 7 pm tomorrow.
-Dusty
