Dear Coaches and Team Representatives,

Now that it's safe for everyone to re-open their eyes and peek outside, I hope this message finds you all rejuvenated after a spectacular weekend at the Etobicoke Basketball Spring Showdown. Thanks to the dedication, sportsmanship, and passion of teams across the board, the event was a resounding success, from local enthusiasts to those who travelled from distant areas such as the Northwest Territories. It even drew an international audience with viewers from as far as Spain.

Document Review Request:
The document detailing this past weekend's results is enclosed with this email. It is prepared for submission to the Ontario Basketball Association, and you must review it promptly. Please ensure your team's details are accurate and, as previously entered into the OBA game results portal for past games and tournament participation.

BallerTV Partnership Acknowledgement:
A special thanks to our friends at BallerTV, whose live-streaming services expanded our event's reach globally. This partnership underscores the unifying power of basketball and our community's global footprint, allowing family and fans, separated by more time zones than there are days in the week, to jump online together and watch our players.

The post-game video recaps available on BallerTV.com are a goldmine for teams and players aiming to refine their strategies, enhance player development, and share their journey with a global audience.

Season Closure and Summer Programs:
As we conclude this OBA season's tournaments, we reflect on the growth and achievements we've witnessed. Looking ahead, we're thrilled to announce our summer lineup with North Stars United, which includes two marquee events:

#GetLoud for Youth Mental Health Awareness (June 5-7, 2024): In the spirit of community and advocacy, this event provides a platform for competitive play and emphasizes the importance of mental health awareness, a cause that resonates deeply within our community. It reminds us that 1 in 5 Canadians will face a mental health challenge, highlighting the critical need for support and conversation.

In conjunction with announcing our commitment to mental health awareness, it is with immense pride we recall the success of our recent "Ballin' for Breast Cancer" tournament. This event exemplified our community's generosity, raising over $12,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. Such initiatives demonstrate the profound impact we can make when we come together, both on and off the court.

Summer Heat Tournament (July 19-21, 2024): As the warmth of summer intensifies, so does the competition. This tournament promises a minimum of four games per team and a vibrant showcase of talent and teamwork, culminating in awards up to Gold medals. Participation is set at a $750 entry fee per team, ensuring a spot in what promises to be a summer highlight.

Closing Thoughts: As you advance through the remaining OBA season, we extend our heartfelt wishes for your success. Your dedication, unity, and passion are indeed the essence of greatness. We look forward to witnessing your continued achievements and hopefully welcoming you back in the summer.

Again, Thank you for your invaluable participation and for making the Spring Showdown memorable. Here's to the bright futures ahead and the impactful moments we will share.

Warmest regards,

Etobicoke Basketball Association

Hi Coaches,

I wanted to welcome everyone from near and far to our Spring Showdown event, kicking on this evening in schools across Etobicoke.

I also wanted to clarify that the home team is listed first on the app and the away team is on the bottom. That should match up with the pre-populated scoresheets.

I hope you have a great weekend of basketball. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Best regards,

EBA

Dear Esteemed Coaches and Team Managers,

As the Etobicoke Thunder Spring Showdown approaches April 5-7, 2024, I extend my warmest welcome to all participating teams on behalf of the Etobicoke Basketball Association. With 37 teams set to compete, your involvement is crucial to bringing our event to life, filled with the competitive spirit and camaraderie that define our community.

Welcoming the Yellowknife Eagles
Please note a special welcome to the Yellowknife Eagles girls' team from the Yukon, who will join us in a unique exhibition bracket. Their participation underscores the unifying spirit of sports and introduces exciting matchups to our tournament. Support for these games is encouraged, with schedules available through the Etobicoke Basketball app.

Tournament Schedule and Player Rosters
For the latest tournament and exhibition game schedules, please download the Etobicoke Basketball app, available at no cost on both Apple and Android platforms. If you have any issues access the app, you can view the online schedule for this event at https://basketball.exposureevents.com/211866/spring-showdown.

If your team's roster needs submission or updates, please send the information by the end of the day on Tuesday, April 2nd, to jaypea69@gmail.com. Ensuring the accuracy of player and team names is essential for the tournament's success.

Uniform Guidelines
For game clarity, the home team (listed at the top of each matchup) should wear light-coloured uniforms, and the away team (listed at the bottom) should wear dark uniforms. Teams with only one uniform colour should contact us immediately for accommodations.

BallerTV Live Streaming with Pay-Per-View
We are excited to partner with BallerTV to offer live streaming of all games. This pay-per-view service allows family and friends who cannot attend in person to watch the games and cheer from afar. To access a game's live stream, log into our app, select the desired game, and click the "watch" button, which redirects to BallerTV for that specific game.

Tournament Fee Prompt Payment Request
If your team has yet to submit the tournament fees, please expedite your payment to jaypea69@gmail.com. A password is not required for this transfer. Your prompt attention to this matter ensures your team's full participation.

Game Day Logistics
Teams are reminded to bring their own game balls and first aid kits and to maintain cleanliness by tidying up the bench area after each game.

Admission Fees and Navigating the Venue
Spectators will be charged a $5 daily fee or $10 for the entire weekend, with children under ten admitted free. Players and coaches are exempt from this fee. The "Directions" tab within the app provides detailed directions to game locations, ensuring teams arrive on time for their matches.

For any further questions or assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are committed to making the Spring Showdown, featuring the special participation of the Yellowknife Eagles and the new BallerTV streaming option, a memorable experience for everyone involved.
