Vertical Hoops Winter Championships at Mohegan Sun

We still have lots of basketball left tonight and of course on Championship Sunday, but a big thank you to all of the parents, coaches, and players. You have all been great and the games have been competitive and exciting! Please stop by the Dr. Dish table on your way in or out of Mohegan Sun to check out their home shooting machine.

Coaches and Families, please share the Vertical Hoops app with friends, family, and teammates. It is the easiest way to follow the action, schedules, scores, and updates. You can look ahead to your potential Sunday times and opponents by clicking divisions/bracket. From the bracket page you will see championship brackets, but you can also toggle the option down to see "Crossover", which is our consolation bracket. All teams will be playing on Sunday as a reminder!!

Visit Vertical Cutoms outide the main door at Mohegan Sun, also taking orders at Foxwoods, for cutom Winter Championship merch! We will also have custom basketballs on site later today!

Saturday Shuttle Reminder. The shuttle is brand new and comfortable. At Mohegan pick it up at the Winter Garage Shuttle Station. At Foxwoods you are going to the "Bus Station" right at the Expo Center which is extremely convenient. No Need to use a UBER or bring your car. The shuttle is only running today.

Shuttle service provided by Vertical Hoops all day between Mohegan and Foxwoods. Pickup and drop off at Foxwoods use Fox Tower Bus Stop. Mohegan sun use Winter Garage Bus Stop.

Coaches, please ask your players not to shoot or go on courts during timeouts this weekend. This drastically slows down games and is frustrating for officials. We want to try our best to keep games on time and your assistance is greatly appreciated. We have very limited space available for practices on Friday night but we will have some court time open up throughout the night. We are not taking requests for specific times but if you are interested in a Friday night practice time complete the link below and we will be in touch. Most likely it will be a 30 min session on a 1/2 court, but it all depends on how many teams are interested. We will take requests today up until 5pm and let you know by 10pm if and when you have a time.

On Saturday only, we have hired a 24 passenger shuttle between Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. The shuttle will begin the day at 6:30am at Mohegan Sun and run thoughout the day until 9:30pm. After the first two trips weekend wristbands will be required to ride to avoid non-participants from taking space on the shuttle. The shuttle will be labeled with Vertical Hoops in the window. Coaches, please share this information with your families.

Hello Everyone!
We are going to publish the schedule tonight (Sunday) on the Vertical Hoops app, which you can download on any smartphone. We are very excited to welcome well over 300 teams this January! Please note we are past the no refund date. If your team needs to back out for any reason we will do our best to find a paid replacement and refund you, but that is unlikely at this point. Please see below for more details.
*We have added 6 courts at Foxwoods another premium facility & location. To make it convenient Vertical Hoops will have a 24 passenger shuttle between the two resorts to avoid the need to move your car after checking in. This shuttle will run non-stop Saturday only.
*Friday we have a great night planned that includes lots of free contests provided by our sponsors for kids and adults including skill contests, three point shooting contest, photo shoots, skill clinics, all-star games, and more! Details will follow in another email...
*PLEASE remember that we do not schedule this weekend like a traditional AAU event in terms of times. Game times are intentionally spread out throughout the day to distribute favorable times among all teams as best as we can.
*If you see two games scheduled that is because your third game on Sunday will be scheduled on the app once your pool games have been completed on Saturday. Please check the app to look ahead at possible bracket game times.
*Rosters must be completely entered. You can check if your roster is complete using the Vertical Hoops app. Playing a non-rostered player will result in a forfeit.
*Expect some minor changes to tonight's schedule. We still have room for 8-10 teams, which is why you might not see an opponent listed currently on the schedule.

Hi Everyone,
We have very exciting news for all of the teams on the waiting list and for the teams currently registered for the Winter Champsionships. We have been able to secure the Convention Center at Foxwoods to add an additional 6 courts giving us the opportunity to add all of the teams on the waiting list and more teams from around the Northeast who have been emailing and calling to get into our January 3-5 event. We knew that the only way to welcome more teams was to add courts, but we were not willing to sacrifice the experience for our participants which made Foxwoods the only option. If you are not from the area Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods are 15-20 minutes apart so we are confident that this will not impact anyone negatively for the weekend in terms of travel plans and hotel reservations. All teams on the current waiting lists will receive invoices in the next 12 hours signaling acceptance into the tournament. We do need all invoices paid upon receipt to reserve your spot.

The last email was sent to every team in the tournament not just teams on the wait list so please do not panic if you have paid your invoice your team is in the tournament.

This message is specifically for teams on the waiting list. We will let you know by tomorrow 7pm (Tuesday) whether or not your team is in the field. Sorry for the delay, but we are doing our best!

Hi Everyone,
We are currently on waitlist status for several or the divisions this Winter at Mohegan Sun. We are asking for all invoices to be completed and paid by November 8th. If you have already paid your invoice or registered and paid online you are all set and ready to go. Please note tournament registrations fees are non-refundable once the schedule has been released and we will not refund due to bad weather. This is due to non-refundable costs associated with renting the convention center and the courts at Mohegan Sun. We do plan to sellout the remaining spots this week and to release the schedule on November 9th including our Friday night activities. All information will be posted on the Vertical Hoops app and social media. (Facebook, IG, X) Looking forward to a great weekend of basketball this January!
