2025 Winter League

We want to thank everyone for participating in Winter League 2025. We had an awesome tournament week with some phenomenal games to end the season. Congrats to all the teams who brought home the championship.

None of this is possible without players, parents, coaches, refs, staff, fans and scorekeepers. Thank you to everyone who made it happen!

We have a FREE 3on3 charity tournament for Korah Kids coming up on April 11th & 12th. Our next 5on5 tournament will be May 16th & 17th. Check out www.netsonfire.org for all tournament information along with our group and individual training offerings. We have some amazing trainers that would love to keep all the hoopers in the area improving their game.

Again, thank you for a wonderful league...we will run it back next year!

We are excited for over 120 games this week to find a champion in each of our divisions.

Please double check the schedule for games times and court assignments. PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP IF ARE NOT PLANNING ON PLAYING YOUR GAME! WE DO NOT WANT ANYONE SHOWING UP AND NOT HAVING AN OPPONENT TO PLAY.

Remember it's not quite March Madness yet, so everyone please support your teams and children the correct way. We want this week to be about the kids and the basketball...not the crazy coach/parents/fans in the stands!

Tournament Week is here! Games will begin on Tuesday night and finish up on Saturday night! Please use app and website to see schedule and navigate brackets. We will also have brackets posted at Nets on Fire.

- Rules will be the same a regular season

-There is a Championship & Consolation bracket in the 6th Boys Silver Division

- PLAYERS CANNOT PLAY ON MULTIPLE TEAMS IN SAME DIVISION!!! YOUR TEAM WILL FORFEIT IF IT HAPPENS. PLAYERS CANNOT JOIN A NEW TEAM IN SAME DIVISION ONCE THEY LOSE. THIS ALSO MEANS A PLAYER CANNOT PLAY IN CHAMPIONSHIP AND CONSOLATION BRACKET IN SAME GRADE.
(Example: A 6th grade player cannot lose in consolation and then go play in 6th grade championship or other way around. However a player can still play in 6th grade bracket and a 7th if they have been playing with both teams all season long)

Please reach out if there is any confusion or questions regarding this. We are at the point where the vast majority of players should be on one team, if they win they keep playing, if they lose they are done.

-Tournament games always come with a little extra intensity and energy. Please keep everything appropriate and sportsmanlike in your interactions with players, officials, scorekeepers and fans. Make sure the example and impressions you leave are the right ones.

We are pumped for an exciting week! Please make sure we get a team picture of your team if you end up winning it all! We will have prizes and a trophy to take pictures with by the Nets on Fire backdrop after each team wins a championship game.

Tomorrow is the last week of the regular season!!! We appreciate everyone making the league amazing again this year! A couple reminders as we wrap up the regular season:

1- DOUBLE CHECK GAME TIMES AND COURT ASSIGNMENTS. There have been a couple minor adjustments

2- We will have shirts available for handout. THERE IS ONE SHIRT FOR EACH PLAYER AND COACH. Just have each player/coach swing by the table and grab ONE! Siblings and parents DO NOT get a shirt, sorry! If you do not play this weekend we will have them available for pickup during the tournament. If you don't play this weekend and opted out of the tournament send Kasey an email and he will get them to you!

3- The tournament brackets have been published, these are still a work in progress so there could be some changes as we populate them with teams. As divisions wrap up regular season play tomorrow we will finalize the standings and get the brackets updated. An email will be sent out once all the brackets are final. Tournament play will begin on Tuesday.

Just a quick reminder to double check the schedule for tomorrow! A few minor adjustments were made to court assignments and times.

The construction leading to Nets on Fire is complete but please plan for traffic with it being a holiday weekend!

Also, last reminder to let us know if you are opting out of the tournament by tomorrow. Reminder it will be the week on Feb. 24th through March 1st. Majority of games will be played Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. A handful will be played on Monday and Wednesday evenings!

Just a reminder that we need to knowby 2/15 if you plan on opting out of the end of season tournament. If you plan on opting out please email Kasey Winters at kaseywinters@netsonfire.org

Some tournament brackets are in the works but we still have the majority of our divisions finishing up regular season play this weekend or next weekend. As divisions finish up we will get brackets sent out. Remember tournament games will be played Monday-Saturday the week of Feb. 24th - March 1st.

Sorry for the late message! Just want to remind everyone to plan ahead for traffic and construction. Give yourself plenty of time to get to your games! Also please DOUBLE CHECK THE SCHEDULE for make sure you have the correct game times and court assignments! Good luck to everyone playing tomorrow!

As Winter League enters the home stretch we want to remind you all of a couple things:

1- There is still construction on Dixie Drive leading to Nets on Fire, please plan accordingly.

2- The single elimination Championship Tournament will take place Feb. 24th - Mar. 1st. We will be playing games everyday of the week (Monday-Saturday) and will be using gyms other than Nets on Fire to fit all the games in. You will have the option to opt-out of the tournament if you do not want to participate. Please email kaseywinters@netsonfire.org if you DO NOT want to participate in the tournament. Please let us know by February 15th.

3- We need to treat our officials better!!! They are not perfect and we have constant conversations with them about being better and working harder. Parents and coaches have become too comfortable with many of them and feel like they can say whatever they want. We will be cracking down on unsportsmanlike behavior especially from the stands. As coaches please keep your fans in check and keep the focus where it should be...ON THE KIDS. There is not a surplus of people wanting to ref youth sports. We feel like we have a solid group of officials and want to keep them around. Please help this situation wherever you can!

4- We know there are other activities and events going on like soccer, baseball, softball, volleyball and whatever else. Our schedule is maxed out and we cannot make adjustments because a soccer/volleyball/baseball/softball game and Winter League game are at the same time. Players are going to have to chose! If your team cannot make it you will forfeit with an automatic loss and we will try to find a replacement team so that your opponent doesn't miss the chance to play a game.

Overall the league has been fantastic! We love watching your teams compete and showcase their skills and teamwork. Thanks for all you do and keep up the good work!

Please be aware that Dixie Drive near Nets on Fire is still under construction and down to one lane. Also they are advising NO LEFT TURN at the traffic light heading up the hill on Canyon View Dr. Please go through the light and take a left on Ostler Way. Please give yourself extra time to make it to your games. Let's have a great day!

Coaches, this is our LAST SATURDAY for photos. If you missed your appt, please come this Saturday between 8:00 am and 5:00 PM and we will fit you in. If you have players who want to come, they are welcome to come by themselves and we will do their individual shots.

Quick reminder that if you are playing at Snow Canyon Middle School you need to enter through the southwest doors.

The beginning of Winter League has started really well! Please keep practicing and preaching sportsmanship with your players, coaches and fans! When everyone plays and acts the correct way it's an enjoyable day for everyone!

Also, double check the team picture schedule to see if you are up tomorrow!

Just a quick reminder to double check the schedule for court assignments and game times.

A couple other important reminders:

- It would help our scorekeepers if the team listed on top wears DARK jerseys and is the Guest team while the team listed on bottoms wears LIGHT jerseys and is the home team.

- We will begin using Snow Canyon Middle School tomorrow for Saturday games. Please park on the southwest side and go in the side door. We will have the correct door marked with a sign. Please stay confined to the gym and restrooms. Make sure kids aren't wandering the halls or bouncing/passing balls in the hallway.

- REMEMBER players CANNOT play on multiple teams within the same division and/or grade. We have already had several issues with this. Moving forward it will result in a forfeit no matter what the score ends up being.

- Tomorrow Alisha Shaw will begin taking team pictures and awesome individual shots if you scheduled them. Please see the email send out earlier this week for the details. Please email hello@alishashaw.com with any specific questions regarding pictures. They will be taken in the IHC Speed and Agility location down the hall from the basketball courts.

Alisha Shaw is doing photos for our winter league this year. They are the super cool, trendy, smoke photos and we are excited to have her come. You have been given a time slot that we coordinated as best as we could with your game times-see the attached PDF, locate your division and team for your date and time. If you are playing at Nets, they are timed to give you time for pics and warmups or between two games with time to freshen up. If you are playing off site, they are planned to give you travel time to your other court. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO PARTICIPATE OR WOULD LIKE AN ALTERNATE TIME, please text Alisha and work it out with her.
The team photo is FREE and part of your registration so please encourage your players to come to that photo. Coaches are welcome to be in it too!!

The season is here and we are ready to get going this Saturday! Attached are the Game Guidelines, please share them will all coaches, players and parents.

PLEASE double check the schedule weekly to confirm game times and court assignments. Changes do happen even though we try to avoid them as much as possible.

We have refinished all four of our courts in the last 6 months and did two of them over the break. We are asking for the help of all our players, coaches and spectators to help keep them as nice as possible for as long as we can. PLEASE NO FOOD OR DRINKS ON THE COURTS (other than player water bottles). Please keep all food and drinks upstairs in the lobby.

The link for the 2025 Winter League is posted below. We have scheduled over 650 games and are excited for the season to begin. The schedule is COMPLETELY FULL!!! Each team should have 9 regular season games.

The easiest way is to access the schedule is through the Exposure App. This allows parents, kids and coaches to check the schedule frequently and stay up to date. Please notice we will be using Snow Canyon Middle School on some Saturdays for games. We have outgrown exclusively using Nets on Fire which is a good problem to have. It means more teams are playing basketball and wanting to compete!

We want to keep adjustments and changes to an absolute minimum so please do not reach out with any special requests or accommodations. We understand a day or time may not be ideal or perfect but PLEASE do your best to make it work! We know threre are baseball, soccer, softball and volleyball tournaments along with dance, cheer and a thousand other things. Just remind all those other coaches that it is basketball season from January 4th to March 1st 😁.
