Dear Coaches, Players, and Families,

On behalf of the entire North Stars United organizing team, thank you for making this year’s NSU Summer Heat our biggest and best tournament yet. The energy, competition, and sportsmanship shown by every team made for an unforgettable weekend at Six Park East and UTM.

Special thanks to our volunteers, partner clubs (RWI Kings, Motion Basketball), scorekeepers, and the Active Touch Physio team—your efforts and support make this event possible.

We are already working on Summer Heat 2026—with an even greater emphasis on “better” as well as bigger. We welcome your feedback and suggestions; just reply to this email with any thoughts, as your input truly helps us improve the experience for everyone.

Hi Coaches,

Just a quick note regarding our medal presentations this weekend:

Gold and Silver medal ceremonies for the winning teams will take place in the lobby of the SPE or UTM gyms, depending on where your game is held. This allows us to stay on schedule and keep the following game times running smoothly with minimal interruption.

After the handshake line, please proceed directly to the lobby for the medal presentations.

At that time, we will also present the Tournament MVP award. Coaches, please be ready to select and present the MVP plaque to one player from your team.

Just a heads up for any teams playing during the 3:30 pm time slot at Six Park that our NSU boys team will be playing in their semi-finals game. We do have additional scorekeepers in the facility on Sunday; however, we may need team support to cover all the score tables during this game.

Hi everyone,

I hope you've all had an entertaining weekend of basketball. Welcome to Super Sunday and the continuation of our pool play and/or bracket play, depending on your division. Please note that we do have a few teams with coaches for multiple squads, so, as the playoffs progress, we will try to adjust play times (if we can) to ensure they are not playing at the same time.

Rise and shine—Day 2 of our NSU Summer Heat tournament is here! We’re in for a great Saturday of basketball at both Six Park East (SPE) and UofT Mississauga Recreation & Wellness Centre (UTM).

If you were travelling and missed the Friday night games, you can catch up on all scores and official score sheets in our North Stars United app—your best resource for real-time results, game times, and directions for both venues.

Bracket Play Begins for Some Divisions
*A reminder that several divisions begin bracket play later today.
*For U16 Boys Gold:Any team playing RWI Kings will do so at 8:10 pm tonight
*Any team playing NSU will play at 9:20 pm
*We will adjust the game-time schedules after round-robin play.
*This schedule helps ensure our scorekeepers are spread out.

If, by chance, NSU and RWI Kings end up matched against each other at any point this weekend, please note that we have additional score table coverage available, but we may need teams to help manage their table for that particular game.

🔎 Check Your Team Profile NOW
Once you’re in the app, please immediately review your team profile:
*Ensure your team logo is accurate.
*Verify all player names and jersey numbers are accurate.
*Confirm your coaching staff is correct.

If you do not see a roster listed for your team, it means we have not received your roster file. Please email your complete roster to NSUCoaches@gmail.com ASAP—we are printing score sheets today and want every team fully represented.

Sending your roster to us now saves you time before games, so you can skip filling out the score sheet and focus on warm-ups.

🗓️ Schedule, Uniforms & Coach Responsibility
Schedule: Full online schedule here.
Uniforms: Home (listed first) wears light; Away wears dark. If you only have one set, contact us before your first game.
Coach Responsibility: Coaches must ensure their teams are in the correct gym, on the right court, at the right time, and wearing the correct uniforms so games can start promptly.

🏀 Game Day Logistics
First game: Friday, 6:00 pm (doors open 5:30 pm). On Saturday and Sunday, gyms open 30 minutes before the first game.
Bring: Your game balls and a team first aid kit.
Keep benches clean and respect facilities—please clean up after your team each game.

🩺 On-Site Physiotherapy for Players
We’re pleased to offer on-site physiotherapy all weekend courtesy of our friends at Active Touch Physiotherapy:

Saturday: Michelle Brown and the Active Touch team will be stationed at Six Park East all day.
Sunday: The same crew will be on-site at UTM.
Whether it’s a rolled ankle, sore muscle, or a lingering knock from earlier in the season, players are encouraged to visit the Active Touch station for expert assessment, taping, stretching, or treatment—keeping everyone healthy and on the court.
Please note—this service is first for players (coaches, fill in behind...).
Look for Active Touch signage at each venue, or ask staff at the main desk for directions. A big thank you to Michelle Brown and Active Touch Physiotherapy for their support of our athletes!

🎟️ Admissions & Parking
$15 daily/$20 weekend pass (players, coaches, and kids under 10 are free) for access to all our game events.
UTM Parking Notice: Some lots are partially closed due to construction. For details, see the “Documents” tab in the app and allow extra time for parking.

🎥 Streaming & Coverage
All games are streamed live on BallerTV and are available on-demand—access them directly through our app.
Media crews (High Level Media & Savvy Athletics) will be capturing highlights—bring your best energy!

👏 Shout-outs & Score Table Support
Huge thanks to U16s from RWI Kings and Motion Basketball for helping our NSU team cover the score tables at both venues.

For our boy's U16 Gold Bracket participants, please note that we will adjust the playoff schedules to ensure that RWI and NSU are not scheduled to play at the same time. Saturday evening's RWI playoff game will happen at 8:10 pm, and the NSU playoff game will occur at 9:20 pm. We will adjust Sunday playoffs accordingly, so please keep a watchful eye on our app.

If there’s ever a gap at the table, it may be because the next crew is just finishing up their own game. Please help cover until they arrive so games can start on time.

🏆 Playoff Scheduling & Patience
We’ll build out the playoff Sunday schedule as divisions finish pool play, updating brackets in real time. Please note that some divisions won’t finish their pool games until as late as 10:30 pm on Saturday. We appreciate your patience as we work through the schedule—some matchups will be finalized late in the evening.

🤝 Conduct & Community
Please show respect to referees, scorekeepers, and all staff. Negative conduct will not be tolerated—let’s make this an event everyone is proud of.
