THE GAUNTLET presented by Alaska Airlines

THE GAUNTLET is back!

Last year, for the first time, OSG Hoopla added its first-ever and only ladder tournament to the basketball festivities. Limited to 26 teams and yielding ONLY one champion, THE GAUNTLET was a massive hit and is back thanks largely to our sponsor Alaska Airlines.

So, why was it so popular? Well, many reasons:

* Since it will be played at 6pm on Saturday, it happens after OSG Hoopla 3x3 tourney play is done for the day;

* The only game happening at that time, THE GAUNTLET is played in front of a big, lively crowd;

* Teams are selected into the ladder at random and announced on site, revealed only when their walkup song is played - something that adds great tension and anticipation to the event;

* Short but competitive games, where every possession is immensely valuable;

* Prizes for team members for every win they register in the tournament;

* An awesome grand prize for the champs - RT airline tickets on Alaska Airlines (subject to certain terms and conditions);

* An event that welcomes one and all - as long as they are participating in OSG Hoopla's 3x3 event;

* Fun-filled, rapid-paced event hosted by OSG Hoopla XXVI PA announcer Aaron Harris; &

* A very reasonable cost - only $29 per team.

Some QUICK NOTES for all:

* NO MORE SCHEDULE REQUESTS - While we aim to please and do all we can to accommodate folks, we're now way too late in the process to be making adjustments to the schedule;

* THE CAPITOL MALL PARKING LOT IS FREE - You are welcome to park wherever you like during Hoopla, but remember the underground Capitol Mall Parking Lot is free in designated areas for OSG Hoopla patrons;

* PLAYER CHANGES - If your roster needs to be adjusted, you can do so via our online form (https://oregonhoopla.com/info/change) through Thursday. After Thursday those changes must be done on-site at our Registration HQ. All rosters must be set before your first game; after that they are locked in and can not be changed;

* SCHEDULE RELEASES - The Chuck E Cheese Thursday 1x1 Tourney schedule will be released by 5pm on Wednesday. The Kona Ice Friday 2x2 Tourney and OSG Hoopla 3x3 schedules will be released by 5pm on Thursday. Go to either the Hoopla Association app or to our website (oregonhoopla.com) for all schedule information;

* KONA 2x2 AND CHUCK E CHEESE 1x1 TOURNEYS - It is NOT too late to sign up for Chuck E Cheese Thursday 1x1 Tourney or the Kona Ice Friday 2x2 Tourney; but TONIGHT AT 9PM is the deadline. Join the fun in those events by registering ASAP at oregonhoopla.com/register;

* THE GAUNTLET presented by ALASKA AIRLINES - If you want to play in this hugely popular event, you must nominate your team with all required info by Thursday night by an email sent to oregonhoopla@gmail.com. Our only ladder tourney, THE GAUNTLET is a limited field event (26 teams). Big hit last year; champs get RT airline tickets on Alaska Airlines, subject to some terms and conditions; &

* COURTS WILL BE AVAILABLE TONIGHT FROM 7:00pm ONWARD - Want to shoot around or play some before everything fires up? You can do so on site at OSG Hoopla in Downtown Salem from roughly 7pm onward tonight.
