General Information

Dates: April 11–12, 2026

Location: Carman-Ainsworth High School, Flint, MI 48532 (Directions button above)

Divisions: Boys 11th–3rd • Girls 8th–5th (includes 10U / 4th Grade).

Team Fee: $300 (no late fee). Payment through Exposure.

Game Guarantee: 3 games.

Admissions:

Ball Size: 28.5” for girls & boys 6th and down; 29.5” for boys 7th+.

Rules: NFHS with event modifications; press rules by division;

Tiebreakers: head-to-head → point diff cap +20 → points allowed

Schedule Release: 72 hours prior via Exposure (check the app for updates).

Coach Check-In: Bring printed roster & waivers; arrive 45 minutes before your first game.

Sportsmanship: Zero-tolerance for fighting/abuse of officials.

RUNNING CLOCK RULES

Event staff can make any rule, roster, and scheduling adjustments at any time for the betterment of the event.

Wristbands: 3 per team (2 coaches + 1 scorekeeper). Check in each weekend. No exceptions. Register staff on Exposure.

All NFHS Basketball Rules apply except:

• Clock: 20-min running clock halves. Stops only in last 2 min of 2nd half.

• Mercy Clock: Clock will not stop in last 2 min if leading by 20+ points.

• Foul Limit: 6 fouls to foul out.

• Bonus: 7th team foul per half = 2 free throws. No 1-and-1.

• Press Rule: No pressing/trapping when up 25 (3rd–8th only; 9th+ exempt).

• Forfeit: Game time is forfeit time. Event Director decides.

• Scorekeeping: Each team provides one ADULT. Home team is official scorekeeper.

• Timeouts: 3 per game (two 30-sec, one full). One extra 30-sec in 1st OT only.

• Overtime: 1st OT: 2 min (stop clock last 30 sec). Additional OT: sudden death.

• Fouls: Intentional/Flagrant/Technical = 2 pts + ball (no shots).

• Ejections: Must self-report. Cannot play next game.

• Ball: Girls all divisions: 28.5” | Boys 3rd–6th: 28.5” | Boys 7th–12th: 29.5”

Playoff Seeding: 1) Best record 2) Head-to-head 3) Point diff (max 20) 4) Least pts allowed 5) Coin flip

Additional Policies:

• Pregame: 5 min warm-up. Halftime: 2 min.

• Coaches: bring birth certificates and report cards.

• Players may play on two teams if not same division, with Event Director approval. Must be present at game start.

• Playing down a division requires Event Director approval prior to event.

• Age contest: $200 payment required. Returned if upheld; kept if contest fails.

• Spectators must stay off playing area or face removal/team forfeiture.

AGE/GRADE ELIGIBILITY

Grade based with age parameters by birth date. Age exception applies if advanced in grade.

• 3rd: Cannot turn 11 before Aug 1, 2026. Exception: 10.

• 4th: Cannot turn 12. Exception: 11.

• 5th: Cannot turn 13. Exception: 12.

• 6th: Cannot turn 14. Exception: 13.

• 7th: Cannot turn 15. Exception: 14.

• 8th: Cannot turn 16. Exception: 15.

• 9th: Cannot turn 17. Exception: 16.

• 10th: Cannot turn 18. Exception: 17.

• 11th/12th (Unsigned Seniors): Cannot turn 20. Exception: 18.
