Great news during Snowpacolypse 2026: the HOT Winter Throwdown event (Sunday Feb 1)schedule never had to be unpublished or completely reworked. There were some minor adjustments including moving 4 courts over to Southwestern University, but the schedule stayed mostly in place!

Please confirm your game times and locations and refer to the previous message about rules and prices. I did attach the rules again and the information is there too.

Thanks for your flexibility as we worked to make this event happen for all the kids! Stay warm and we will see you all Sunday.

Thanks,
Tamie Felty

Good afternoon,

Thank you all for your patience and flexibility as we find a way to offer everyone the games they planned for to end this Winter season. I want to make sure everyone knows the HOT Winter Throwdown originally scheduled for this Sunday, Jan 25, is being pushed due to the weather to next Sunday, Feb 1.

The hope is we can just pick up the entire event, current game schedule and all, and move it to next Sunday without major changes. I will confirm this is the case by the end of this weekend.

If you were already scheduled to play in the HOT Next Level Finale on Feb 1, then you should have gotten a message about that event moving to Saturday, Jan 31, to allow both of the events to take place in the gym space available next weekend. It will be moving to Georgetown ISD as LTISD did not have any gym space available to host on Saturday, Jan 31. The game schedule will be published by Monday.

HOT Next Level Finale - Saturday, Jan 31 Georgetown ISD
HOT WInter Throwdown - Sunday, Feb 1 Southwestern U & Georgetown ISD

Please let me know ASAP if you have any questions about this event schedule revision.

Thanks,
Tamie Felty

Good afternoon,

Unfortuantely, the weather report has not changed for this weekend, and I am hearing from GISD that the schools will most likely be closing for the weekend. They are waiting to make that call, but out of an abundance of caution and consideration for your families' need to make plans, I am now making the decision to postpone this Sunday's event until next Sunday, Feb 1.

Ideally, we will just pick up the whole event as is and move it to the following Sunday with no schedule changes; however, I will update everyone on that by the end of this weekend. The event will stay in Georgetown with some games moving to Southwestern University, so that a positive in the situation.

Thank you all for your flexibility as we do our best to put safetly first for all our families. We hope everyone stays warm and safe no matter what this texas weather throws at us!

Thanks,
Tamie Felty

Rest assured I am monitoring the weather reports and will throughout the week. Since it's early in the week and it's Texas weather, I'm not making any rash decisions at this time. However, I will communicate before the event since the weather reports are rarely very trustworthy until much closer to the day. Let's all collectively cross our fingers and hope for the best!

Thanks,

Good afternoon,

Thanks for coming out to play the HOT Hoops Winter Throwdown on Sunday, Jan 25 in Georgetown. If you haven't already downloaded the TXBA app, it is the most efficient way to get all schedule updates and event messages.

You can find the schedule on the TXBA app and here:
https://basketball.exposureevents.com/247511/hot-hoops-throwdown/schedule

Please make sure your parents know there is a fee for spectators:
$15/day/adults and $5/day/K-12 students (cash and Venmo accepted, no cards)

Take note of the sportsmanship rules and serious consequences for any type of violence. Physical and/or verbal violence will result in a full team disqualification from the event without any refunds for spectators or the team. Additionally, any form of violence, including threats, could result in the team being banned from future TXBA events. If a parent enters the courts without prior permission from the officials, the game will be suspended at the point of interrruption. No adult should make physical contact with someone else's child without permission. Help us keep this a safe event for everyone.

Please know I tried my absolute best to accommodate all schedule requests entered when registering.
It will not be possible for me to change the schedule for late requests. Some coaches coaching multiple teams will need to drive between schools; luckily, all the Gerogetown ISD schools are so close to one another.

Please communicate with parents that gyms will not open earlier than 7:30am, so please don't arrive earlier. All standings are decided by win/loss record, head to head, and point differential of opponents in a tie. Site Directors will hand out medals for 1st and 2nd after all games in the division are finished and the standings have updated online.

Rules are attached and posted under messages for the event.Players must be approved in advance to play on multiple teams in the event. Please make every effort to keep this a fair and positive environment for the kids to enjoy the sport they love.

Thank you!
Tamie Felty
