Vertical Hoops Fall Championships at Mohegan Sun 2025 Teams

RULES
Game Rules
*FIGHTING, EXCESSIVE YELLING AT OFFICIALS, FANS ON THE COURT DURING PLAY, OR ANY OTHER BEHAVIOR THAT DETRACTS FROM THE TOURNAMENT EXPERIENCE OR CREATES AN UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT WILL RESULT IN REMOVAL FROM THE VENUE WITHOUT A REFUND. THIS APPLIES TO COACHES, PARENTS, AND PLAYERS.

ONE COACH is allowed to stand on the sideline, no exceptions. Any coach who excessively yells at officials and/or Vertical Hoops staff will be removed from the facility. Coaches set the tone for players and parents. It is our hope to have competitive fun basketball games. Fighting, swearing, and abusive behavior towards others has no place in Vertical Hoops tournaments.

Time Rules: NEW!!!

4th Grade-Varsity: Two 16 Minute Halves
Clock stops on all whistles.
15 point lead, Under 12 mins in game clock runs.
50 Min Game Schedules we will play two 16 min halves, clock runs except on FTs and last 2 mins of each half.
2- 4 minutes warm-up time.

Tie-Breakers
2 teams = head to head, point diff, points allowed, points scored
3 or more = point diff, points allowed, points scored
All teams must be ready to play no later than 10 minutes prior to their game time. If the court is available VH can begin games 6 minutes prior to posted times with both coaches consent.

Pressing Rule (4th grade -6th grade) only

Teams can press in the first half until they are up by 10 or more points.
Teams can press in the second half until there are up by 20 or more points.
Good sportsmanship is always encouraged. The max amount of point for point differential is 20 so there is no reason to press a team up 30 points.

6 fouls = player disqualification
7 team fouls = 1 & 1, 10 Team Fouls = 2 shots
Three full timeouts per team. (50 Min Schedule = 2 Timeouts)
Overtime 2 minutes. (50 Minute Schedule = 1 Minute), After two overtimes site supervisor discretion on whether or not to play sudden death. (50 Minute Rule Only)
Technical Fouls / Flagrant Fouls

Two Technical Fouls = Ejection. Player or coach may be removed for remainder of tournament. Site Supervisor will have the final decision.
Fighting = technical foul and removal from remainder of tournament

As we make final preperations for this weekends event , we still have teams with invoices that need to be fianlized and paid.

Please note:

All unpaid teams invoices ABSOLUTELY MUST be PAID in full by 12:00pm Tommorrow Tuesday Sept 30th.
This is the ABSOLUTE DEADLINE FOR INVOICE PAYMENT. If your team invoice remains unpaid after 12:00pm Tommorrow Tuesday Sept 30th, Your team will be AUTOMATICALLY REMOVED FROM THIS EVENT.

WE HAVE BEGAN OUR FINAL PREPARATIONS FOR NEXT WEEKENDS FALL CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT AT MOHEGAN SUN.

THANK YOU TO THE OVER 200 COACHES AND TEAMS THAT HAVE COMPLETED OR ARE IN THE FINAL STEPS OF COMPLETEING THE ROSTERS ON NSID.SO FAR.WE LOOK FORWARD TO DOUBLING THOSE NUMBERS TODAY.

COACHES, PLEASE LOG ON TO YOUR NSID TEAM DASH BOARD AND VERIFY THAT ALL YOUR ROSTERED PLAYERS ARE VERIFIED, AND COMPLETED. IF A PLAYER IS REJECTED OR NOT FULLY VERIFED, IT WILL TELL THEM WHAT STEPS ARE NEEDED TO FINALIZE THERE VERICATION.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: WE WILL BE SENDING ALL ROSTERS TO PRINT THIS TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 30TH. ALL ROSTERS NEED TO BE COMPLETED BY THEN TO BE INCLUDED IN THE MADATORY ROSTER PRINT PACKAGE FOR ALL TEAMS.

IF YOUR ROSTERS ARE NOT SUBMITTED BY THE TUESDAY AT 12:00PM NOON TIME, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO PRINT OUT AND BRING 4 COPIES OF YOUR PRINTED NSID VERFIED ROSTER TO THE EVENT.

EACH PLAYER WILL GET CHECKED IN BEFORE EACH GAME VIA THEIR TEAMS NSID VERIFED ROSTER. SHEET.
ANY TEAM THAT PLAYS ANY PLAYER THAT HAS NOT BEEN FULLY VERIFED VIA NSID, THERE GAMES WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE PLAYED, HOWEVER ALL GAME RESULTS FOR THAT TEAM WILL RESULT IN A FORFEIT LOST IN THE STANDING AND THAT TEAM WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICPATE IN CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET PLAY UNLESS PLAYER IS MADE COMPLIANT.

IF PLAYERS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BE MOVED UP TO ANOTHER TEAM DURING THE EVENT, THEY MUST BE DOUBLE ROSTERED AND PUT ON ALL POTENTIAL ROSTERS THAT THEY MAY PLAY ON. THIS WIIL PREVENT ANY SURPRISE PLAYERS ON ANY TEAMS DURING THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES. IF A PLAYERS IS ON THAT TEAM ROSTER, THEY WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO PLAY FOR THAT TEAM. IF THEY ARE NOT, THEN THEY ARE NOT EILIGIBLE TO PLAY FOR THAT TEAM

OUR VERTICAL HOOPS STAFF WILL CHECK ALL PLAYERS PRE GAME VIA NSID ROSTER SHEETS ASWELL AS AFTER ALL GAMES VIA SCORE SHEETS TO MAKE SURE ALL PLAYERS AND TEAMS ARE IN COMPLIANCE.

DURING THE EVENT, IF ANY TEAM HAS ANY QUESTION IN REGARDS TO THEIR OWN PLAYER NOT SHOWING UP ON THE VERICATION LIST, WE CAN ASSIST YOU AS LONG A THE PLAYER IS VERIFIED IN THE SYSTEM. IT IS 100% UP TO ALL TEAM COACHES AND PROGRAM DIRECTORS TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL THEIR TEAM COACHES AND PLAYERS ARE FUULY VERIFIED.

THOUGH THIS PROCESS IS A LITTLE WORK, BY WORKING TOGETHER, WE WILL ALL MAKE THIS CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT NOT ONLY A GREAT EVENT, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY A CHEATER FREE EVENT


SCHEDULING FOR THIS EVENT WILL BEGIN TODAY AND BE RELEASED TONIGHT VIA THE VERTICAL HOOPS APP.

ONLY TEAMS THAT HAVE COMPLETED THEIR TEAMS NSID ROSTER WILL BE ABLE TO VIEW THEIR SCHEDULES VIA THE APP

Reminder, all coaches and players must be registered and verified for this event via NSID.


NSID is a third-party company that handles the age in grade verification for this event .
All players and coaches MUST  be registered and verified via NSID for this event.

The deadline to get all players and coaches verified via NSID is next Sunday, September 28th.

In order to complete all necessary tasks on our end for this event, all verified rosters for all teams Must go to print on Tuesday, September 30Th.

Coach’s verifications list Will serve as their admission pass via their coaches badge . Only registered and verified coaches for this event will receive a coaches pass for free admission.

Please note, any teams that play with any unverified players NOT registered on NSID, will not be eligible for bracket play in championship play. They may still play their schedule games however results will automatically be entered as a forfeit for those teams.


Schedule Release:

We anticipate on releasing our preliminary schedule for the Mohegan event next Sunday, September 28th. Any teams that are fully verified will be able to view their schedule. Upon team verification, schedules will be released.
