Sorry for the delay due to unforeseen circumstances Grand Rapids Union brought to our attention that we can no longer rent their facility. Please check the schedule as we had to make changes to make sure we could still have games. We tried to stick to the restrictions to the best of our ability.
I understand you may feel that it changes your plans please understand we did the best we could with what we had left to make sure the tournament is still going off.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to the Grassroots Tournaments – Drive to the Hoop Classic on January 10–11. Below are the official Coach Check-In details for the weekend.

Friday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
✅ Important Notes
⭐️At least one coach or team representative must check in before your first scheduled game. You will be asked the names of each person receiving a band.
⭐️Coaches will receive wristbands at check-in (2 coaches bands, 1 scorekeeper band). You will need to provide the names of each person receiving the bands. ⭐️Bands must be worn at all times on your wrist. Coaches/scorekeepers without bands at admissions will be required to pay for a band.
⭐️Please ensure rosters are finalized prior to arrival, Players will receive bagtags for this event. Bag tags will be required on player bags for player entry.
⭐️Coaches packets will include: rules, QR code for brackets, and social media platforms covering the event
⭐️Early arrival is encouraged to avoid peak check-in times.
If you have any questions during the weekend, a Grassroots Tournament staff member will be available on-site to assist.

Thank you for joining us on the court to start the 2026 tourney season. We are excited to get the kids on the court this weekend for one of the premier events of the Winter.
EVENT SCHEDULE:
We are working hard to finalize divisions and start pooling teams. Please follow the timeline below for event schedule releases:
Tuesday evening- Pools and Brackets Released
Wednesday evening - Schedule Released

Everyone should expect to start off with a minimum of one pool play game then everyone will advance to bracket play at the conclusion of pool play. Please be sure to check the brackets for your potential times for your bracket games
Please check until Friday night for schedule changes.
EVENT MEDIA COVERAGE
Prior to the start of the event, we encourage coaches to share our social media platform handles with their families and encourage them to follow them. Prior to the start, and throughout the event, we will post important details that will help answers questions they may have.
Following each game, we ask for coaches to sign the score sheet to verify the score is correct. In addition, we ask that each coach nominate a player from the opposing team for Division All-Stars. More instructions will be in your coaches packet at coaches checkin (more details to come).
We will have several videographer/photographer on sight taking photos and making short reels for everyones review. These can be found throughout the event and in the evening on Sunday and throughout the upcoming week on our social media accounts listed below:

1st listed team (Home): Light uniforms - Top in bracket play
2nd listed team (Away): Dark uniforms - Bottom in bracket play
STANDINGS
Standings can be found on the grassroots tourneys app. Click here to find the app. Please give 15 minutes following your game for the scores to be entered and the app to update. Here are the tiebreakers:

* Head-to-head
* Point differential
* Points allowed
* Points scored

Today is the Final day to Register, Send in Restrictions, and make Payments.
🚨Restrictions must be in writing and emailed to grassrootstourneys@gmail.com or text to Sara at 513-578-5703. If you have not received a response to a submitted request, please resend. We don't want to overlook anyone's requests.
💰 Payments are required by midnight tonight in order to be placed on the schedule. Once schedule is done we plan to only make minimal changes for restrictions we overlooked. Also, once schedule is released there will be no refunds given!
📲 If you know teams that want to play, please remind them to register by midnight tonight.

Just a few points of emphasis prior to Sunday about next weekends Drive to the Hoop Event in Grand Rapids:
1) Registration will officially close on Sunday. We have locked in additional venues this week in order to accomodate the demand.
2) Any restrictions must be sent in writing prior to Sunday in order to be considered for scheduling. Restrictions must be put in writing or they will not be honored. If you sent a restriction but have not gotten a reply, please reach out so we can confirm your restriction. If you already received confirmation then you are all set. You can email grassrootstourneys@gmail.com or text Sara at 513-578-5703.
3) Payments must be made in full prior to the Sundayor your team will not be placed on the schedule.
4) Everyone should have received a roster request link, please be certain to complete the roster in its integrity (Name and Number). We will use these for player passes and to facilitate event All-Stars.

In an effort to get ahead of things for this large event, and to alleviate schedule changes we have implanted new polices for the 2025-2026 season. Please see below the policy for event registration, event payments, and scheduling
🚨Fees will be required to be paid in full prior to scheduling in order to be put on the schedule. Those teams/programs who are not paid prior to the start of scheduling will not be place on the schedule. We project to begin working on the schedule shortly after the new year.
