General Information

Project Hoops is a student-led nonprofit basketball tournament held annually in the Bay Area, bringing together over 150 young athletes for a day of competitive 3‑on‑3 games, a 3‑point contest, and chances to win $1,500 in merchandise prizes. The event combines high-energy basketball with purpose, raising funds for VT Seva, a nonprofit providing healthcare and education to visually impaired children in 25 U.S. cities and five countries.

Over the past four years, Project Hoops has raised $45,000, with a goal of $15,000 more this year to help over 150 children worldwide. The tournament builds community by uniting players, volunteers, and sponsors to make a tangible difference. Sponsors gain exposure through event banners, T-shirts, social media, and giveaways, while helping drive meaningful impact.

Planning NCAA Certification

This event is planning to be a NCAA certified event.

All teams participating at an NCAA certified event must register online prior to reporting to participate in the event. Failure to register and submit all required information will result in a team being denied participation in all NCAA certified events. Coaches are expected to keep their online rosters updated.

All individuals who are involved in coaching activities at a NCAA certified event must renew their USA Basketball Coach License and be approved by the NCAA prior to participation in the event. This must be completed in order to sit on a bench at any NCAA certified event.
