Dear Friends,

Good morning! Our Championship HQ this year will once again be at The PAC Community Center, so if your team wins a division championship, please run over to The PAC (3575 Fairview Industrial Drive) and we will have championship tees, take some photos, and enjoy the moment together.

Good luck, and let's make it a great day!

Weary after a long day of competitive hoops?

Cut down your commute and stay in Salem while you play! The CCS has partnered with The Grand Hotel in Salem and The Hotel Salem - arguably Salem's two best hotels - to offer CCS patrons lodging options at awesome rates. Clean, convenient, safe -- these properties are big partners with the tournament and would love to welcome you as a guest tonight.

Call Susan at 503-779-1611 to book your room(s)!

Please see the attached flyer for additional information on our official hotels!

Good morning, Friends!

Some quick reminders on this weekend's Capitol City Showcase presented by Chuck E Cheese:

* Admission is charged at this event, and we are a CASH ONLY operation. We've operated this way for years; but please be sure your families know this in advance;

* If you are the first game at a site, please know the gym doors do not open until 20 minutes before the first game time. Please take note of this; you won't have time to run an hour-long practice before the games start. Our staff is working long days, beyond the time most teams come and go obviously, and we have to keep the windows reasonable for their sake. If you show up earlier than 20 minutes before the first game time at any location, you will probably be waiting in a parking lot - and we don't want that for you!;

* Each team gets three (and three only) into the games for free --> 2 coaches and a person for either the official book or the clock. For each game, one person from each team does either the clock or the book, and one person from the other team does the other. We shifted to this model a year or two ago, and it has worked very well and been well-received by folks;

* Along those lines, BEFORE YOUR FIRST GAME, coaches sign in to get their tourney wristband and team packet... After that, YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOUR WRISTBAND TO GET IN FOR FREE. We get lots of folks saying "I'm a coach" - that doesn't fly. You have to sign in, and then at all times have a wristband on you. Simple; sign in and after the first game if no wristband, you pay;

* WAIVERS, WAIVERS, WAIVERS - you can not play your first game until you get your waiver info in... For those who have done that, thank you! For the rest, we need those ASAP please!!!;

* Players are not allowed to just bounce around from team to team in this tourney. So if you are part of a school organization, a kid can not play on the Sherwood 6th and Sherwood 7th team. One or the other. Same deal with clubs - players are allowed to play on one team and one team only in this event. There are limited exceptions where with advance notice AND advance approval a team in a bind in terms of numbers might be allowed to have a kid from another grade (same or lower grade) play on a second team. But this has to be both explained and requested AND explicitly approved by the CCS in advance. You can't send a text or email saying you are doing this or that; that's not getting the approval required. The CCS Tournament Director (BJ) has to explicitly understand and bless the playing on a second team by any kid. Also, if you have 12 5th graders on a team and 1 6th grader, you need to play in the 6th grade division. So you can't grab a 6th grader to play on a 5th grade team for several reasons. First, it's not allowed, and second, you then are playing in the wrong division. Go awry of any of this, and you might have to forfeit games - let's avoid that undesired outcome and keep everything simple and clean;

* You can follow along team results and schedules on either the CCS website (www.capitolcityshowcase.com) or the App (Sasquatch Sports); &

* Please peruse our Rules & Regs (attached) as time allows, so we are all on the same page rolling into this weekend!

Thank you again for playing, and we look forward to a great weekend of hoops at the CCS!

Sincerely,
The CCS Team

Coaches,

We had an issue with one of our facilities that we had to make some adjustments to the schedule. Saturday's schedule has a few minor changes in some divisions. Sunday has some major changes in a few divisions. Please see that you check the App or the website for updates made to the schedule.

In the Name of the Game,

Good morning!

Just FYI, the 2025 Capitol City Showcase Youth Tourney schedule will be posted by 8:00pm tonight. We have worked very hard to do our best to accommodate a myriad of time requests and constraints. These requests presented considerable challenges, even with advanced computing programs to help on this front, and we have done our best to address every one of them.

The sheer number of requests on the scheduling side has grown tremendously over the years. And we get it, it's a nice thing to request when you want or need to play. At the same time, for the folks who just signed up to play whenever, without any sort of restrictions, thank you! To make everything work we definitely need teams like that, too.

We are confirming a couple of final details, but the schedule is 98% done and will be posted this evening before 8pm. We hope this helps with your planning.

THANK YOU again for playing in the CCS. We have an awesome field, well over 100 teams again, and we can not wait for a great weekend of basketball ahead!

Hey Folks,

We are excited to have you in the 10th Annual Capitol City Showcase Youth Tourney presented by Chuck E Cheese! Exciting weekend of hoops ahead for us all on December 13 & 14.

Two important quick notes for you:

* Thank you to those of you who have turned in your waiver info! Big, big help. Please be aware to get full access to the ample CCS perks offered to our teams/coaches, we need your Roster/Waiver/Insurance/Consent for the CCS by no later than TODAY (12/8). This form is both attached and available on the website, and it should have been emailed to you, too, previously. If you can't get it in today, you likely will still get a chunk of the perks, but nothing guaranteed. Also, whether it's done today or not, we need it before you play your first game. The sooner, the better!

2) For your planning purposes, our tourney schedule will be availabe and posted by no later than Wednesday evening.

Thank you again for playing, and we are excited to see you and your team soon!

Protection for School-Based Teams
Keeping the integrity of our school-based divisions exclusively school-based is a high priority for the CCS in 2025.  See our Disclaimers sheet for more info!

Conveniently Located
Salem is in the heart of the Willamette Valley, and an easy drive up or down I-5 from a large chunk of Oregon's population.  Depending on where you might be coming from, playing in Salem for many is not much (if any) farther than playing across town in one of the state's bigger cities.  Contemplating the CCS?  Please keep in mind it's just a short zip up or down I5 for most!

Play New Teams
Tired of playing the same old teams tourney after tourney?  Because the CCS has tended to draw from all over Oregon over the years, it is a tournament that offers teams the chance to play teams from a wide range geographically.

Lodging Deals
The CCS has partnered with two great local hotels - The Grand Hotel in Salem and The Hotel Salem to offer out-of-towners very nice accommodation options at great rates.  See our flyer for more info, or call Brooke (503-779-1611) to book your rooms.

For the Betterment of the Game!
The CCS is not just another in a chain of for-profit tourneys; it's a unique, community-based, stand-alone, once a year event that supports the Capitol City Classic and high school basketball in the Mid-Willamette Valley.  You can feel good knowing your participation is supporting the betterment of hoops in Oregon... rather than just being another profit center for some youth tourney organization.

*** PERKS: THE CCS MAKES IT RAIN! ***

Nike Employee Store Access
Two coaches from each participating team will be given access to the Nike Employee Store (s.t terms & conditions)

(s.t. terms & conditions)

Pizza Party for Division Winners!
Champions of divisions at the CCS win championship tees to commemorate their successful weekend of hoops, like at many other events.  But at the CCS, for every division with 6+ teams, the division champions also will get a pizza party for the team at Chuck E. Cheese, the sponsor of the Capitol City Showcase.  This perk is valued at $200.  (s.t. terms & conditions)

Invitation to the 2025 CCC Contest Extravaganza
The Capitol City Classic will once again have nationally-ranked teams and players, some of whom are destined to be future NBA lottery picks.  Last year, the field on the boys' side included 5-star prospects Alijah Arenas (son of former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas); Jason Crowe Jr. (who will become California's all-time leading scorer this year in all likelihood) & 6'11 CJ Rosser (the #1 ranked sophomore in America last year).  This year's talent might be event better.  For participating in the CCS, all teams, both coaches and players, are invited to the CCC's Contest Extravaganza free of charge on Saturday, December 20 at 8:45pm at Willamette University.  The Contest Extravaganza will feature a 3-Point Contest, a Hot Shot Contest, a Slam Dunk Contest and much more in a fun-filled setting.  We hope you can join us!  (s.t. terms & conditions)

Free Hoopla Team

Teams playing in the CCS automatically will be entered into a drawing for a free team in Oregon Specialty Group Hoopla XXVII presented by Capitol Toyota & Dutch Bros next summer - a $250 value! (s.t. terms & conditions)
