Description

This training is for any high school student under 18 years old. Pay ranges from $20-$30 per game (depends on your abilities and experience). You will start at 3/4 grade games and based on performance evaluations; you will be offered the opportunity to advance to higher levels for higher pay. The training is online and an interactive class via Google Meets, led by Eastern Maine Board 111 IAABO official Scott Cournoyer. Online rules 1 week classroom training is 6pm-8pm. Which is approximately 8 hours over 4 days (Nov 3rd-6th), then followed by IN PERSON mechanics training on Friday November 7th. The in-person mechanics training location will depend on who signs up for class and where they are located. Students who complete this training will be offered the opportunity to officiate youth basketball games, wherever they can travel to. Ultimately, we hope a few of you will really enjoy the job and want to stay on when you turn 18 to officiate high school games. Depending on your drive and love for officiating the option is available to go all the way to college, and even training to be an NBA official, which has a 1st year starting salary of $250,000/year!
