Dear Coaches, Players, and Families,

As we head into tournament week, we are sending a refreshed information package to ensure that all newly added teams and contacts are fully prepared for the 2026 Ballin’ for Breast Cancer – Play for the Cure event.

We are grateful to welcome both returning and first-time participants to this year’s tournament. What began over a decade ago as a modest four-division event has grown into an eight-division community initiative. Through your participation, we have now raised tens of thousands of dollars in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Your continued support makes this possible.

With the schedule now published, please review the following key reminders as you prepare for the weekend.

Travel & Weather Reminder

With recent snowfall and the possibility of changing road conditions, we encourage all teams to:
• Review your game times again
• Plan travel with extra time built in
• Account for parking and designated school entry routes

Arriving early will help keep the weekend running smoothly and safely.

Facility Access & Game Timing

• Friday access begins at 6:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday gym access begins at 8:15 a.m.
• First games begin at 8:40 a.m.
• Some venues require specific entry points — please follow posted signage.
• Confirm bench assignments upon arrival.

Sunday Playoffs

Playoff and consolation formats are available in the Bracket tab of the Exposure Events app.
Match-ups will be confirmed once divisional round-robin games conclude.

Earlier divisions will receive updates sooner; later divisions may receive them in the evening. Our target is to conclude all play by 11:00 p.m. Sunday. Game times may adjust slightly depending on divisional outcomes.

Admission

• $10 per day (ages 13 and over)
• $15 weekend pass (please don't etransfer before the weekend - but props to Karlie Park from GU10 Niagara Falls for booking your weekend pass already - we will let the door staff know :)
• Players, coaches, managers, and children 12 and under are free
• Exact cash is appreciated
• E-transfers accepted at jaypea69@gmail.com

For perspective, admission is only $5 more than when we launched this tournament more than ten years ago. Those incremental increases have enabled us to significantly increase our annual donations, which now total tens of thousands of dollars. Your attendance directly contributes to that impact.

Game Day Expectations

• Teams must supply their own warm-up basketballs.
• Basic first-aid supplies should be brought by each team.
• Be at the correct venue and prepared for your scheduled tip-off.
• The home team is listed first/top in the schedule.

Bench & Transition Protocol

• Warm-up windows will be brief between games.
• Clear benches immediately following your game.
• No additional court time outside scheduled game slots.
• Efficient transitions help us stay on time for everyone.

Sportsmanship

This weekend is about competition and community.
Respect officials, volunteers, opponents, and facility staff at all times.
Coaches are responsible for bench and spectator conduct.
Abusive language toward referees or volunteers will not be tolerated.

Exposure Events App & Scoresheets

• Please ensure your team has downloaded the Etobicoke Basketball app powered by Exposure Events.
• Schedules, results, brackets, and digital scoresheets are available there.
• U13 and older divisions will use pre-populated scoresheets.

Tournament Merchandise

Commemorative tournament shirts will be available at select venues.
Cost: $25
Pre-ordered custom shirts will be delivered to the team benches before your first game.
Inventory is limited.

Raptors Platinum Ticket Raffle

We will be raffling two Platinum Club tickets to the Toronto Raptors vs. Phoenix Suns on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Scotiabank Arena (Section 121, Row 3, Seats 3 & 4, with Platinum Club access).

Dear Coaches, Players, and Families,

On behalf of the Etobicoke Basketball Association, we are pleased to provide the official tournament information package for the 2026 Ballin’ for Breast Cancer – Play for the Cure event.

We are proud to host this annual community event in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. What began as a small four-division initiative has grown into an eight-division tournament, made possible by the continued commitment of returning programs and the support of new teams joining us each year. Together, we have raised tens of thousands of dollars for this important cause, and we sincerely thank you for being part of it.

With the tournament schedule released one week prior to tip-off, the following information will help your team prepare for the weekend.

We would also like to recognize our volunteers — parents, students, and community members — who will be supporting the event at entrances, score tables, and throughout the gyms. They are generously donating their time to ensure the weekend runs smoothly. We kindly ask that all coaches, players, and spectators treat them with patience and respect.
