Messages

Dear Coaches,

On behalf of the Etobicoke Basketball Association, thank you to all teams for participating in our Spring Showdown tournament this past Easter weekend.

We appreciate your commitment, flexibility, and competitive spirit throughout the event. It was a strong and competitive weekend, with great energy across all divisions, and a great way to close out our 2025–2026 EBA tournament season.

A special congratulations to our division champions:

GU13 – Brampton Warriors
BU16 – Youth Elite Ballers
BU19 – Timmins Selects

We will be submitting all official scores to the OBA later this week.

We would also like to thank our convenors, volunteers, and scorekeepers for their efforts in helping deliver a smooth and well-organized tournament.

Lost Item – Timmins Selects

The Timmins Selects may have left behind a ball bag containing five basketballs in Gym C on Sunday afternoon. If any team has picked this up, please contact us so we can coordinate its return.

Upcoming Event – NSU Summer Heat

We invite all teams to participate in our upcoming NSU Summer Heat tournament:

Dear Coaches,

The Sunday playoff schedule is now final and live on the Etobicoke Basketball app.

Please review the Brackets section of the app for your team’s game time and gym location. As a reminder, teams are responsible for checking the app and ensuring they know when and where they are playing.

Please note that some game times have been adjusted. These changes were made to ensure that our Etobicoke U16 and U19 teams are not scheduled to play at the same time, allowing them to support score table operations throughout the day.

Doors & Arrival
*Doors will open to the public between 8:00 AM and 8:15 AM
*Please plan your arrival accordingly to ensure a smooth start to the day

Wristband Reminder
We have had several parents mention that wristbands will be removed during showers or for other reasons. If this applies to you:
*Please bring the removed or damaged wristband with you on Sunday
*We will exchange it for a new one at the venue

We appreciate your cooperation with this, as it helps us manage admissions smoothly.

Thank you again for your flexibility and support. We look forward to a great finish to the weekend.

Best regards,

John Panagiotopoulos

Dear Coaches, Players, and Families,

Welcome to the Spring Showdown, hosted by the Etobicoke Basketball Association and marking the final event of our 2025–2026 season.

We are excited to bring together all participating teams for a competitive and well-organized weekend of basketball, and we thank you for being part of it.

Tournament App & Schedule
We strongly encourage all teams to download the Etobicoke Basketball app, available for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play. The app will serve as the central hub for the weekend and provide:

*Game schedules and updates
*Scores and standings
*Team rosters (last chance to send them through to me)
*Playoff brackets
*Gym locations and directions
*Scoresheets copies

Please note that teams are responsible for checking the app regularly for updates.

Sunday Schedule & Playoffs
Sunday game times may shift slightly based on final rankings following Saturday’s games. This allows us to better manage scheduling and ensure our volunteer scorekeepers—many of whom are players from our U16 and U19 Etobicoke Thunder teams—are not scheduled to play and work at the same time.

We will do our best to keep the schedule as close as possible to what is currently posted.

Please check the app on Saturday evening to confirm your Sunday game time A final confirmation email will also be sent Saturday evening once all matchups and times are finalized

Parking & Food
Please review the attached parking information from UTM for important details regarding parking on campus this weekend. Please note that campus restaurants will be closed during the tournament weekend. Food options are available nearby, off campus, for those looking to grab meals or snacks between games

General Reminders
*Teams should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled game time
*Games will begin on time
*Please ensure your team is prepared and at the correct court

We appreciate your cooperation and flexibility as we work to deliver a smooth and enjoyable tournament experience for all teams.

Thank you again for your participation, and we wish all teams the best of luck this weekend.

Sincerely,

John Panagiotopoulos
