Our quality includes state-of-the-art facilities, NCAA-certified officials, 4th quarter basketball, media exposure, stop-clock games, player write-ups, potential to advance to the TOC national ranking system for players and teams, and team and individual awards. Our reputation of tournaments attracts teams throughout the country to participate. We also provide our grassroots champions free entry to the Tournament of Champions National Champion games.

General Information
TOURNAMENTS OF CHAMPIONS - RULES
2 COACHES BANDS WILL BE PROVIDED DURING THE CHECK-IN PROCESS. THESE BANDS MUST BE WORN THROUGHOUT THE TOURNAMENT. IF BANDS ARE MISPLACED COACHES WILL HAVE TO PAY ENTRY FEE.
NO TEAM WILL BE SCHEDULED WITHOUT PAYMENT AND FULL ONLINE REGISTRATION, NO EXCEPTIONS
ALL teams must check in before their first game. Scoresheets will be provided (TOP TEAM ON THE SCHEDULE IS HOME) (The home team is responsible for the game ball) Please have team books available at all times throughout the tournament. Books should have proof of age i.e., birth certificate or state ID, report card, or National Sports ID. Each team will receive free entry for the two coaches and players listed on the roster only. Players must have on full uniform to receive free entry into the tournament. A player is not allowed to play on two teams unless he or she is playing up and with the same organization.
BENCH PERSONNEL/DRESS CODE A team may only have on its bench the eligible persons listed on its official roster, including non-players (coaches, scorekeepers, etc.) All coaches are encouraged to wear team apparel. Due to the number of teams, all players, coaches, staff, and parents must make the proper arrangements to arrive on time for all games.
TEAM ROSTERS Team rosters must be provided before the start of the first game. Rosters should be entered when registration is completed for the tournament in your exposure team portal. If this is unavailable, the roster must be emailed to tournamentsofchampions@gmail.com. All teams must bring eligibility documents for each player on the team. If you are challenged with the eligibility of a player, you must produce a birth certificate and current report card. If you cannot provide these documents before the next game, all games played with the ineligible player will result in a forfeit.
Rules & Playing Time Division: (4) quarters – clock stops on dead balls and free throws.
Elementry School 2nd Grade - 5th Grade 7 Min Quarters
Middle School 6th Grade - 8th Grade 7 Min Quarters
High School 9th Grade - 12th Grade 8 Min Quarters
Warmup – 5 minutes - 3 minutes halftime – 3 minutes halftime - overtime 3 minutes.
Forfit: There is a 5-minute grace period. Game time is game time. If you are not on the court at your designated start time, you run the risk of a forfeit. There will be no exception to this rule.
TIMEOUTS Each team shall receive 4 timeouts per game (2 per half, no carryover). Overtime allows 1 full timeout, no carryover.
PERSONAL FOULS Each player is given 5 personal fouls before fouling out.
Bonus Foul Shots 7-10 Double Bonus 10+
Technical Foul Any coach who receives a technical foul will have to remain seated for the remainder of the game. Any coach or player who receives 2 technical fouls will be removed for the remainder of the game. All technical fouls given to players will count against the personal foul count.
MERCY RULE Teams winning by more than 20 points will have a running clocking for the duration of the game. The clock will only stop for timeouts. The clock will stop once the lead is less than 20 points.
TIE BREAKERS Any tie after pool play will be broken using a head-to-head winner. In the case of no head game or any three or more way ties, the following tie-breaking methods will be used: 1. Score differential up to a maximum of 15 points per game (pool games only) 2. Least points allowed
Referees fully control the game. All referee calls must be honored. There will be no meetings, discussions, etc. regarding referees.
PROTEST FEE $100.00 CASH. If you win the protest, the cash will be returned. However, if you lose, your protest money is donated to the tournament host.
BASKETBALL SIZE The home team must provide the game ball. The ball MUST be in new condition.
6th grade and below divisions shall use the 28.5 circumference basketball
7th grade and above divisions shall use the 29.5 circumference basketball
UNIFORMS Player’s jersey must have numbers on both the front and back. Numbers can be 00-99. The home team wears white/light-colored jerseys and the visitors team wears dark-colored jerseys.
EJECTIONS Any coach ejected for fighting will be removed for the remainder of the tournament. Any player ejected for fighting will be prohibited from playing in the remainder of the tournament.
SPORTSMANSHIP It is the obligation of coaches, players, administrators, volunteers, and other representatives to practice the highest principles of sportsmanship and to observe the ethics and integrity of the competition. Good sportsmanship is defined as qualities of behavior, which are characterized by courtesy and genuine concern for others. The display of good sportsmanship is a statement of the individual’s understanding and commitment to fair play, ethical behavior, and integrity. All coaches should observe the following ethical guidelines: the coach shall never place the value of winning above the value of instilling the highest desirable ideals of character, the coach must always consider the personal safety of the athlete, the coach shall be thoroughly acquainted with the rules and regulations of competition, and shall be responsible for their interpretation to team members, the coach shall not try to seek an advantage by circumventing the spirit or letter of the rules, game officials shall have the respect and support of the coach, the coach shall not indulge in conduct that will incite the players or spectators against the officials, public criticism of the officials or players is unethical, the coach should respect his opponents, display gracious behavior during the competition, and require his players to conduct themselves in a similar fashion. Before and after the contest, rival coaches should exchange friendly greetings to set the correct tone for the event. Coaches shall actively use their influence to enhance sportsmanship by spectators.
GRADE-BASED COMPETITION RULES
3rd Grade An athlete must be in the 3rd grade or below as of October 1, 2023, and can be no older than 10 on or before August 31, 2024
4th Grade An athlete must be in the 4th grade or below as of October 1, 2023, and can be no older than 11 on or before August 31, 2024
5th Grade An athlete must be in the 5th grade or below as of October 1, 2023, and can be no older than 12 on or before August 31, 2024
6th Grade An athlete must be in the 6th grade or below as of October 1, 2023, and can be no older than 13 on or before August 31, 2024
7th Grade An athlete must be in the 7th grade or below as of October 1, 2023, and can be no older than 14 on or before August 31, 2024
8th Grade An athlete must be in the 8th grade or below as of October 1, 2023, and can be no older than 15 on or before August 31, 2024
15U/9th Grade Division An athlete can be no older than 15 on or before August 31, 2024. Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 9th grade as of October 1, 2023, and who is no older than 16 on or before August 31, 2024, is eligible to play in the 15U/9th grade division.
16U/10th Grade Division An athlete can be no older than 16 on or before August 31, 2024. Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 10th grade as of October 1, 2023, and who is no older than 17 on or before August 31, 2024, is eligible to play in the 16U/10th grade division.
17U/11th Grade Division An athlete can be no older than 17 on or before August 31, 2024. Grade Policy: An athlete who is in the 11th grade as of October 1, 2023, and who is no older than 18 on or before August 31, 2024, is eligible to play in the 17U/11th grade division.
