Blanchet will be offering separate tournaments for small school, 7th/8th grade school-based BOY'S and GIRL'S teams. Blanchet Champions of Valley Basketball Tournaments are focused on providing competition for, small-school based teams that are are feeding into 1A-4A high school. Our focus is to provide an opportunity and environment to build your schools Mid-High program with this event. We are focused on creating a competitive environment around a school's program.

General Information

Come and take part in this fun and competitive tournament with your classmates.  Who will be this year’s Champion of Valley?  

The 2025 7th/8th Grade Champions of the Valley Boys Basketball Tournament is scheduled for December 13-14. The tournament will be at Blanchet Catholic School in Salem, Oregon. The Team Entry Fee for each tournament is $300 with a guaranteed 4 games. 

The 2026 7th/8th Grade Champions of the Valley Girls Basketball Tournament is scheduled for January 24-25. The tournament will be at Blanchet Catholic School in Salem, Oregon. The Team Entry Fee for each tournament is $300 with a guaranteed 4 games. 

We will play OSAA High School Rules except for the following:

* 20 minute running-time halves. Clock stops in the last 2 minutes of the game if the score is within 10. 

* Game ball must be supplied by the designated home team and agreed upon by both coaches and referees. Girls and Boys will play with their regulation high school ball. 

* The designated HOME team will wear white/light uniforms and the designated VISITOR will wear a dark color. 

* Each team is to provide a score keeper or clock person for each game. This person is to be identified prior to the tournament by the coaches in order for them to receive free admission during the tournament. 

* Half Time (3 minutes)

* Three "30 Second" timeouts per game (no carryover)

* 1st overtime - 1 minute (each team can has 1 timeout, no carry over)

* 2nd overtime - "Sudden Death"

* No full court pressure if the team is up by 20 points or more. Can resume pressure if the score drops below 20. 

*Tournament organizers reserve the right to add or combine divisions based on level of play and the number of teams signed up for each division.

Champions and 2nd Place in each division for each tournament will be recognized. 

Email Adam Stout at CavsU@blanchetcatholicschool.com to reserve a spot in the tournament. To secure your team reservation, the team representative must complete the team registration and pay on the Exposure website by Tuesday, December 9th at 5pm. 

Hurry and register - we have had to turn away teams in previous Champions of the Valley Tournaments. 

Coaches: 

1. Teams will need to arrive at least 1 hour prior to their first game. Tournament Liability Waivers will be e-mailed to coaches prior to the tournament and should be signed and ready to hand in when the team arrives. If they are not ready, parents will be asked, at check-in, to complete the paperwork and this could prevent their ability to be timely to their first contest. 

2. Coaches should inform parents, family members and friends that there is a PER DAY admission charge of $10 per adult, $5 for Seniors and $2 for children ages 7-17. Children under 6 and under are free. Portions of the tournament will benefit the Blanchet Basketball Programs.  

3. Coaches will receive starting times and brackets at least 2 days (Wednesday or Thursday) prior to the tournament. Brackets will be posted and available at the tournament site as well. Coaches should plan to communicate this to their team and parents.
