NY AAU Summer Classic Empire Youth Athletics

Thank you for choosing to take part in the NY Summer Classic! Some quick points to review for this weekends’ event are below. PLEASE READ!

The address/map link for each venue can be found in the app as well. Please monitor your schedules in the app and do NOT go off of screenshots or messages in team group chats in case of changes!

There is a zero tolerance policy for fighting at AAU events. Head coaches and program directors are responsible for their team’s assistant coaches, bench personnel, team media, athletes, and spectators behavior. Severe consequences will be taken for any action deemed as fighting.

This event will contest games with halves, not quarters. Halves will be 14 minutes for 6th grade and below. For seventh grade and above, halves will be 16 minutes. Seven fouls begin the bonus free-throws and 10 fouls begin the double bonus free-throws. Each team will have two 30 second timeouts and two full time outs per game. Timeouts do NOT carry over to overtime. Each team gets one 30 second timeout in overtime. Overtime’s are 2 minutes. There is no sudden death overtime’s in this event.

Top team on the schedule will be the home team. Bottom team will be the away team.

A maximum of 15 athletes and two coaches are allowed per team.

A running clock will be utilized when a team is winning by 20 or more points. If the score goes back below a 20 point deficit, normal clock stoppage resumes. The maximum credit a team will receive each game is + or - 15 points in standings. A mercy rule is applied in the last 2 minutes of a game if a team is losing by 15+.
