2026 Battle for the Benjamins

Description

The 2026 Battle for the Benjamins brings together competitive programs from across the Bluegrass region for a high-level, high-stakes competition. Presented by BJ Legacy Athletics, the event is built around challenging matchups, efficient game operations, and a championship atmosphere from the first tip-off to the final buzzer. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winner of each finalized division, with a minimum payout of $500 per division champion. Final prize money allocations will increase commensurate with the number of paid team registrations in each finalized division.

General Information

Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. A team’s spot is not secured until all required registration information has been submitted and payment has been received in full.

BJ Legacy Athletics reserves the right to close, consolidate, divide, rename, or restructure divisions based on registration and competitive balance. Teams will be notified of any material division changes before the tournament schedule is publicly released.

Each finalized division will award a minimum cash prize of $500. Final prize amounts will be determined by the number of paid teams in that division and will increase commensurate with division size.

Teams are responsible for entering the appropriate division. Eligibility is determined by academic enrollment status as of October 1, 2025, or age as of September 1, 2026, as specified within each division description. Players may compete above their eligible division, but may not play down into a division for which they are not eligible.

Each rostered player may appear on only one team roster for the entirety of the event. Players may not switch teams, divisions, or rosters after rosters are finalized and may not participate for multiple teams during the event. Teams must submit complete, accurate, and verifiable rosters by the published deadline. 

Tournament officials reserve the right to require proof of age, grade enrollment, or any other eligibility requirement at any time. Failure to provide documentation satisfactory to tournament officials may result in player ineligibility, one or more game forfeitures, or team disqualification. All eligibility and roster decisions made by tournament officials are final, without the ability to appeal or protest.

Schedules will be publicly released after registration closes and division placements are finalized. Teams must be available to compete throughout the published tournament window and are responsible for monitoring official communications for schedule updates. 

The tournament director retains final authority over scheduling, division placement, eligibility, protests, forfeitures, and the interpretation or enforcement of all tournament policies. The tournament director’s interpretation shall control in the event of any ambiguity or conflict within event policy, and all such decisions are final.
