Coaches/Parents - As previously mentioned, the Pelicans staff including the mascot, Pierre The Pelican will visit Lafayette PARC facilities on Saturday 2/17; Thomas Park Rec at 12 noon, Robicheaux Rec at 1 pm and King Center at 2 pm. We encourage everyone to try to visit King Center at 2 pm for a special ceremony. All players must wear uniform and parents must have wristband to enter. Thank you

All players and parents are invited to meet the Pelicans mascot, Pierre The Pelican and other members of the Pelican organization. Players must wear uniforms to attend and parents must have wristbands to enter. If the player is not scheduled to play until after 2:00 pm please make sure the player is wearing his uniform and his/her parents are present with the player to visit one of the above mentioned facilities.

Parents - We are extremely excited with the number of kids registered for the 2024 Laf Parks And Recs JR NBA League. Due to the overwhelming number of kids registered we need volunteers to coach a couple of teams. Your heart and love for the kids are most important to fill the vacant coaching positions. You will gain experience as the season progresses.

- It will be fun for the kids.

Lafayette PARC, along with the New Orleans Pelicans, will host an event to help bring awareness that the 2024 Jr. NBA Youth Basketball season is right around the corner.
Registration for the 2024 Jr. NBA season began on October 6 and will run through December 8.

To bring awareness and excitement to the upcoming Jr. NBA season, and to provide some help with registration, Lafayette PARC and the Pelicans will be conducting a special event on Monday, November 20.

Members of the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajun Women’s Basketball Team will be on hand to help Pelicans’ off the court personnel to conduct drills, and fun and games, with youngsters from Lafayette Parish during the event.

The fun, which is open to all boys and girls, ages 5-17, will be held at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center, located at 309 Cora St. in Lafayette, La., beginning at 5 PM.

Those who have already registered are not only invited to attend, but are also urged to do so.

The 2024 Jr. NBA Youth Basketball season begins on January 6, and the registration fee is only $35, so register your child today!
