Hello Coaches,

The schedule is finally out! Here is the link: https://basketball.exposureevents.com/230157/clark-county-youth-basketball-league/schedule

Due to this being a tournament, it will only show your first game on your schedule so please go to the 5/6 boys or girls and then scroll all the way to the bottom to view the bracket! On the boys side there are two brackets so please make sure you are looking at the correct one! I have attached the brackets below as well!

A few reminders:
- Gyms will not open until 15 minutes before the first game, please do not try to come in earlier than that

- Each team will be expected to supply someone to do the scoresheet (Only need one person per game for this but please always have someone ready)
Coaches you will need to check in at the ticket table when you come in, the people working the table will give you two wristbands, one for you and one for your assistant or wife/husband if you do not have an assistant

- This is a tournament meaning there will be a gate fee. The fee prices are attached below

- We will give out sportsmanship medals after each game (one to each team) you will need to go to the scorers table and grab a medal at the conclusion of the game and then give it to the player on the opposing team that you believe deserves it

- We will have media coverage of the whole weekend on instagram @northcountyhoopsclassic if you would like to follow along on there and share this with parents (games are not being streamed but final results and clips/photos will be posted)

That should be all the info you need. Please feel free to reach out with any other questions/concerns you may have! The schedule/brackets are final and will not be changed.

Questions please contact La Center Director (Colin Obot): colin.obot@lacenterschools.org

Excited to get things going this weekend!
Thanks!

Hello 3rd/4th Grade Coaches!

Thank you for wanting to participate in the 3rd/4th grade tournament Friday, February 21st and Saturday the 22nd!

Here are some details:
- This is a single elimination tournament.

- Game rule changes - we will be playing 15 minute halves, you will still get a 3 minute half time and two 30 second timeouts, any ties will go into a 2 minute overtime.

- We will not be charging a fee to get into the games this year. We will be accepting donations to help offset costs.

- We did our best to accommodate everyone's requests and at this point we are not able to make changes to the schedule.

- While we are working very hard to make sure we have enough volunteers to run game clocks and keep score, it may be necessary in some games to ask for help from your team.

- Due to the amount of people in the gyms this weekend we would appreciate it if the rule about only water and no food be followed in all gyms.

- The brackets are on Exposure: if you click on the schedule tab then click on your division, the bracket will be at the very bottom of the page. Your first game can also be found under your team's schedule. Exposure Link

- You can also find directions to the gyms on Exposure as well as the Handbook to review the rules.

If you have any questions please contact Kim Spencer (Battle Ground)

THANK YOU!

All basketball games on Saturday, February 15, are canceled due to weather, staffing challenges, and safety concerns. While main roads may improve, high school rescheduling impacts officials and monitors, and conditions of sidewalks, parking lots, and county roads remain uncertain. Canceling is the safest decision for all teams from Kalama to Hockinson. Please inform your teams.

This decision is made collectively by directors at all locations—if one must cancel, we cancel all. We wanted to notify families early so they can plan their weekend accordingly. These will not be rescheduled.

Thank you for your understanding. Stay safe and warm!

Sincerely,

CCYB Directors

Dear Coaches, Parents, & Spectators,

I hope you’re all doing well! I wanted to send a quick reminder regarding gym access during tomorrow’s youth basketball games.

Our LCHS leadership team will be setting up for our school tolo dance in the commons area just outside the gym throughout the morning while games are going on. To ensure a smooth setup and keep the space organized, we kindly ask that players, spectators, and families remain in the gym unless they are using the restrooms.

We appreciate your help in keeping foot traffic limited to the gym area and restrooms only. Thank you for your cooperation, and best of luck to all the teams playing tomorrow!

Thanks!

Season Reminders
3/4 & 5/6 Teams:
Each team must have a parent volunteer ready to assist during games. While some locations may provide additional support, please come prepared with a parent volunteer just in case.

Referees:
Many of our referees are young adults, and for some, this is their first time officiating. Please show them respect and patience. If you’re interested in officiating yourself, contact your director to schedule games!

K/1 Teams:
Encourage your players to stay with their wristband matches. These young athletes (ages 5-7) can get distracted, but gentle reminders to find their player will help them learn and stay engaged.

Stealing:
Stealing is allowed after the ball crosses half-court. Remind players to stick with their assigned player and stay focused.

Help Defense in the Key:
Help defense in the key is both allowed and encouraged as we teach players the fundamentals of basketball. This may result in double-teams inside the key, which is okay.

No Double-Teaming Outside the Key:
Remind your players to stay with their assigned player and avoid double-teaming outside the key. While advanced techniques like double-teaming, traps, and zones will come with time and as players advance/move to higher level leagues, our focus at this level is doing our best to teach man-to-man defense fundamentals. Help defense in key is allowed.

Hoop Adapters: If you're in a gym with hoop adapters, please follow these rules:
- No dunking
- No attempting to dunk
- No touching the backboard
- Adults and high school students should not shoot on these hoops

These adapters can come unhooked, so it’s important to follow these guidelines to ensure safety and prevent damage.

As we kick off the season, we want to thank you for your time and energy in making this a great experience for our athletes. This league is all about fun, learning, and growth—it’s not about competition but about fostering a love for the game.

A few reminders as we head into the first games:

K/1 Coaches:
Don’t forget your wristbands! Please be active on the court, helping officials and guiding players. This division is all about learning—help athletes get into position, encourage them to stay with their assigned player, and most importantly, emphasize having fun!

3/4 & 5/6 Divisions: Be prepared to provide a scorekeeper for each game. One parent or spectator from each team will need to help at the score table. If there are extra high school volunteers, you may not need to assist, but please plan ahead.

Game Times:

Double-check your schedules to ensure your team is on time and ready to go.

Facilities:

Water only is allowed in the gyms. Thank you for helping keep our spaces clean and respectful for all.

Patience & Flexibility:
As we get started, there may be some bumps along the way. Please be patient and maintain a positive attitude with officials, fellow coaches, and venue staff. A little grace and understanding go a long way in ensuring a great experience for everyone involved!

Let’s make this season enjoyable for everyone. Thank you for your commitment, and have a great first weekend of games!
