Good morning,

There were two issues from yesterday that must be addressed immediately.

We want everyone to enjoy the tournament, cheer loudly, support their teams, and have a great experience. However, there are certain behaviors that will absolutely NOT be tolerated.


🚨 ISSUE #1 – SPECTATORS STEPPING ON THE COURT
Under NO circumstances may spectators:

Step onto the basketball court
Approach the court aggressively
Make motions or gestures indicating they are going to run or step onto the court
Yesterday, we removed two spectators from our gym for this exact behavior.

⚠️ ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
If this behavior occurs:

You will be removed from the facility immediately
You may be banned from future events
Your team may also be removed or banned if this behavior continues to be an issue
There will be NO warnings for this type of behavior moving forward.


👦👧 ISSUE #2 – UNACCOMPANIED MINORS
If you have a child or teenager attending this event:

👉 They must be supervised at ALL times.

We continue to have issues involving:

Unsupervised minors roaming facilities
Disruptive behavior
Property damage
Safety concerns
⚠️ IMPORTANT
If this becomes an issue:

You will be asked to leave the event
No refunds will be issued
Continued issues may jeopardize future attendance at our events

We have removed spectators from events before and will not hesitate to do so again if necessary.

Children remain free at our events because we understand the financial costs associated with travel sports.

However:

👉 Unaccompanied minors must be supervised at all times.

Issues involving:

Property damage
Disruptions
Unsafe behavior
may result in immediate removal from the event without refund.

If issues continue during games:

Games may be stopped
Coaches will have 2 minutes to resolve the issue
Failure to do so may result in forfeiture and jeopardize future participation

Just a reminder that OWA will have a fireworks show tonight between approximately 8:30 PM – 9:00 PM. Right behind the foley event center.

If you are staying in the area after games, it should be a great opportunity for families, players, and teams to relax and enjoy part of the holiday weekend together.

Please plan ahead for possible increased traffic around the OWA area during and after the fireworks show.

If you check your bracket before that time, there is a possibility you may be looking at incorrect game times, matchups, or bracket placements as updates are still being made throughout the evening.

🏀 BRACKET & SCHEDULE

Please make sure you carefully review the bracket before games begin so you fully understand how it is laid out and there is no confusion.

Brackets will NOT be final until 9:30 PM on Saturday night. If there are any questions regarding scores, they must be addressed BEFORE 9:00 PM on Saturday night.

Please continue checking the schedule/bracket regularly throughout the week and especially the night before play begins. While we do our absolute best to avoid changes, adjustments may occasionally be necessary.

Once bracket play begins, please understand there are NO schedule requests or game time changes.

📋 TOURNAMENT RULES & REMINDERS

Please visit www.panhandlebasketball.net to make sure you are familiar with our tournament rules.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled game time.
Teams must be prepared to play up to 15 minutes early if courts are running ahead of schedule.
Coaches are responsible for checking scores, bracket placement, and game times throughout the weekend.
Good sportsmanship is expected from coaches, players, and spectators at all times.
Any inappropriate behavior, fighting, or abusive language toward officials, staff, players, or spectators may result in removal from the event without refund.
Purchasing a ticket does NOT give anyone the right to act inappropriately.
We want everyone to enjoy themselves, cheer loudly for their teams, while helping us maintain a safe and family-friendly environment.

One of the biggest advantages of playing on Friday night is that your team will only have ONE game on Saturday, which allows for a much more relaxed Saturday schedule.

A few important reminders regarding Friday night games:

The weekend gate pass is the SAME price whether your team plays Friday night or not.
We do NOT charge extra for teams that play on Friday night.
Friday night games help us tremendously with scheduling and creating a better overall tournament experience for everyone.
