Hi All,

I’ve now received a second email from a team indicating they have decided not to play their scheduled games tomorrow in the Silver Bracket.

I want to be very clear about something important.

When a team registers for an event, that registration represents a commitment — not just to the tournament, but to the other teams in your bracket.

When a team chooses not to show up, the impact goes far beyond your own roster. You are directly affecting another group of athletes and families who:

Arranged their weekend around these games
Traveled to the site
Paid tournament fees
Prepared to compete

When a team forfeits, the opposing players lose games they were expecting, prepared for, and earned the opportunity to play. Families who invested time and money into the weekend lose part of the experience they signed up for. That simply is not fair to them.

Please take that into serious consideration before deciding, “we’re not going to play that game.”

Ask yourself this:
If your team were in the Gold Bracket, would you make the same decision? Or would you expect your opponent to honor their commitment?

Every bracket matters. Every team matters. Every game matters — especially to the players.

We owe it to all participants to follow through on the commitments we make when registering for an event.

Just a few quick updates as we head into today’s games.

First, thank you to everyone for rolling with the changes over the past 24 hours. Two things we can’t control are teams dropping late and the weather — and we dealt with both yesterday. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and cooperation. Let’s hope for a smooth finish to the weekend.

🏀 Bracket Play Notes
The bracket games that determine Pool Play seeding do not update automatically in the app.

We must manually place teams into the Championship Brackets once Pool Play is completed. These updates will not appear until the final game in that Pool Play bracket is entered.

Please know we will update brackets as soon as scores are reported and confirmed.

Shirts will be available at your site immediately following the completion of each championship game.

🏟 6th Grade Boys – Silver DI Championship
The 6th Grade Boys Silver DI Championship has been moved to the Augusta Civic Center (ACC) due to an available time slot.

With 21 teams competing in the 6th Grade Boys division, we’re excited that both divisions will now have the opportunity to play at the ACC.


🎟 Admissions
Admissions is $10 for the entire day.
Children 5 and under are free.

Your admission bracelet is valid at all tournament sites, so if you are traveling between gyms, be sure to keep your bracelet on.

Please note:
Gate workers will not accept broken or removed bracelets that are being carried.

📝 Incorrect Scores
Occasionally, a score may be entered incorrectly. If that happens, please do not panic — we can fix it.

Simply text:Mark Leclerc – 207-592-9268 and we will correct the score as quickly as possible.

And yes — I know I sound like a broken record — but please encourage your parents to download the Maine Hoops Exposure App.

We had another team drop out of the event, so the schedules have again been updated. Please note we are doing our absolute best to not make changes, but sometimes it is simply out of our hands. The schedule still does guarantee everyone 3 games. Everyone will play at least 2 games on Sunday, even if there is only one game on Saturday. Again, our apologies.

We lost a 7th Grade Girls team this afternoon, creating Schedule changes for Girls 8th Pool G, 7th Pool F and Boys Pool N - The time changes are minimal.

More Information - The 7th Grade girls will play 2 games on Saturday vs 8th Grade teams and then play at the Augusta Civic Center on Sunday in the Championship Game. I realize not ideal but it will give you all 3 games. 8th Grade Girls have one game on Saturday that will decide Pool Seed and move to Bracket Play on Sunday. We are including a Consolation game for the 8th Grade to ensure you also get 3 games vs 8th grade teams.

There was a typo in the last email, start times tomorrow are at 9:00 not 3:00.

All changes have now been finalized, we did our best to eliminate as many 6:40 games as possible and we moved start times tomorrow to 3:00. There were a couple of additional changes from last night that we made as well. PLEASE look closely at the updated schedules. We appreciate your understanding that this is not ideal, but really working hard to mitigate the circumstances. Thank you.

Obviously in an event like this, changes are VERY hard to manage. Unlike the MPA that is dealing with 4 Teams and unlimited access to courts, we have SO MANY more moving parts. I have created a "potential" plan which I will share with your now for Friday night. We will move to this if we can cover all games with officials, staffing and confirmation of gym times. We will make the call at 9:00 am tomorrow morning.

I am sending this now, just so you can begin planning.

Boys:

Pool A - Games will begin at 3:30 at Willams Elementary with Wilton vs Messo, last game at 5:40

Pool B and C - We will switch the pools of Nokomis and Gorham.

Pool B - Game 1 Nokomis vs Marancook - 6:45 Gilman, Game 2 Gorham vs Eagles 6:45 XLSportsworld, Game 3 and 4, Sat 8:30 Gilman and Alfond Center

Pool C - Games 3:30 and 4:30 at XL Sportsworld
Pool D - Games 4:30 and 5:30 at Portland Sports Complex

Pool E - No Change
Pool F - 3:30, 4:35, 5:40 at Gilman Street (Scarb 3:30 and 4:35)

Girls

Pool A Games 1&2 - 3:30 at Portland Sports Complex, Games 3&4 5:40 at XL Sportsworld

Pool B - Games start at 3:30, same order.

Again this HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED yet - this is the plan we will decide on at 9:00 tomorrow. I will also send final notes on the event at that time.

I will let you know that their is a $10 a Day Admissions fee, (Good All Day) 5 and Under free. Cash only in Central Maine, Southern Maine will have the ability to take credit card payments.

I will send a more detailed email this evening, however, I wanted to let everyone know the Schedule for the weekend is now complete. Please, know while I tried to control travel on Friday and Saturday, since I have no idea where you will end up after Pool Play, you could be traveling. Again, expect a more detailed email tonight.
