Mountain East Youth Basketball Championship | March 11th-12th, 2023
Team Registration Information: $300 per Team/3 games Guaranteed - Round Robin Format Registration Opens Jan 7th 2023 and closes March 9th 2023 at 8pm EST GAME RULES / CLOCK RULES - IN GAME - Games will be 12 minute halves 4th, 5th and 6th stopped time. 14 minutes 7th and 8th. - With under a minute on the clock in the second half, you can advance the ball to half court if the offensive team has possession AND calls timeout. - There is a mercy rule! If a team is down 20 or more points, the game will be called with 2 minutes left in the second half. There is no running clock at any point! - Each team has 3 timeouts per game. Timeouts are 45 seconds. Unused timeouts do not carry over into overtime. - If a spectator enters the playing court at any time during the game - (Live Play, Timeouts, Halftime) the ref can stop play and issue a technical foul against the team ONLY after speaking with the tournament director. FOUL RULES - 1 & 1 at the 7th foul of the half. Double Bonus at the 10th foul. Team fouls reset for the second half. For overtime, the team foul count carries over. - Players foul out on their 5th foul. - Technical fouls result in (2) foul shots and possession for the opposing team. COACHES RULES IN GAME - Only 2 coaches on the bench per team (must have the appropriate wristband). Only the designated head coach may stand up during the game. - After a coach is assessed a technical foul, there are no seatbelting coaches. Coaches are allowed to stand post technical foul. Unless otherwise stated by the Tournament Director. - Coaches will be ejected on their 2nd technical and must leave the building. - subject to change by event organizer - Coaches and Programs are responsible for the behavior and actions of their parents and spectators. The Tournament Director reserves the right to issue a bench technical foul for unruly, disrespectful, or unsportsmanlike behavior. - Coaches must be in proper dress code. Team issued apparel or khaki pants and polo. NO HATS, bluetooth, or any other apparel allowed. Any coach who is not in dress code will be subject to a technical foul. Tournament Director has final right to determine severity of dress code enforcement. OVERTIME RULES IN GAME - Overtime 2:00. 1 additional time out. Double OT 1:00 1 additional time out. No 3rd overtime- Sudden Death 2 Team Tie Breaker Head to Head Point Differential Total Points Against Total Points Scored System Generated Coin Toss 3 Way Tiebreaker to Determine Top Seed. Point Differential (Maximum of 15 per game) Total Points Against Total Points Scored System Generated Coin Toss (After the top team is determined, 2nd and 3rd will be determined by following the 2 Team Tie Breaker Rules) 28.5 Sized balls used for all girls divisions and boys grade 4th and 5th ****Teams MUST PROVIDE 1 TABLE OPERATOR Aged 16 years or older!**** ALL PLAYERS…Can only play on 1 team per age group. If caught playing on multiple teams in the same age bracket both teams will forfeit all games played and the player will be disqualified from the tournament! NO EXCEPTIONS!! Boys can only play in Boys divisions. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Girls can only play in Girls divisions. NO EXCEPTIONS!! Eligibility Rules WE ARE GRADE FIRST. The age is the cutoff for that current grade level. It is NOT an exemption for players to participate at a younger grade level. Boys 8th grade/14u - Can not have turned 15 by January 1st of 2022 7th grade/13u - Can not have turned 14 by January 1st of 2022 6th grade/12u - Can not have turned 13 by January 1st of 2022 5th grade/11u - Can not have turned 12 by January 1st of 2022 4th grade/10u - Can not have turned 11 by January 1st of 2022 Championship trophy awarded in each division!
